I also think he'd be a great fit in MSU's system though. Izzo loves big men that can handle the ball like a guard and that is preciously what Henry is.

It's not surprising a 2015 prospect isn't talking to the head coach all the time, because our staff -- having just started 3 months ago and with zero 2014 commits -- is crazy busy on 2014 recruiting.

I find it interesting that Henry's substantial slimming down coincided with Pitino starting here and implementing the fast paced system. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. I see him as a great fit here as a 4 or 5, seems like a Kevin Love type player who will snag the rebound, zip a great outlet pass, and hit a trail 3 on the way back down. That said, I do also see him fitting at Wiscy (he's said he prefers a fast paced system, but everybody does and yet Wiscy still gets good players)...maybe it's partly because he's a big white guy who can shoot. Basically, though, a player of his caliber would "fit" anywhere. He's a top-40 player and one of the top 2015 post men in the country. There's no program that would tell him he's not a good fit.
 



Damn, Henry looks like a completely different player now that he's gotten in better shape. Really hope he ends up a Gopher.

Henry honestly looks like a 35 year old man on the court, no way in heck I'd guess he was only 16. Would make a great PF for us!
 

Wow would I love to have him as a gopher he really has improved his game alot!

Wow he looks great. He has to be a major target. Admittedly, Pitino needs to keep regular contact with the young man.
 

First time I have seen video of this guy....how can you not be impressed.
 

As long as someone on staff is keeping regular contact it's fine. Pitino himself can spend more time once 2014 is wrapped up, which is obviously of higher priority right now. Really hope we get him.

Henry has quite a crowd watching tonight. From Ryan:

"Henry Ellenson crowd. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Marquette, Michigan St, Butler, Gonzaga, Iowa St, Creighton, Indiana"

UW has both Bo and Coach Gard, Izzo is there for MSU, Hoiberg for Iowa St. and Crean for Indiana.

Yes, but there is only one Pitino! OK, maybe two. Oh, and I really think Johnson and Young are great recruiters for us, even when Pitino isn't there.
 


Pitino is in Louisville tonight for Peyton Siva's wedding, per his tweet.

During that New Heights game.. Iowa State also had Doc Sadler (Nebraska's old head coach) as well as Fred..it was Fife for MSU; I did see Izzo around too some this weekend. At the start of the game they didn't have the a/c going on in there.. UNC's Hubert Davis showed up in jeans... as did Evan Daniels from Scout. Crazy. Marquette's Brad Autry also in attendance for that one.

Spent a few minutes trying to get some doors pried open to get some air in the gym... Doc was pretty entertaining.

D1 Minnesota 16's were playing New Heights, which is the program Kimani was the director for. Kenny Johnson (Indiana) only stopped in here and there.. during half and breaks of the game next door (Colorado Hawks and 2016 De'Ron Davis were playing).

Triple overtime game. I've been very high on Henry for a long time, but I'll tell you what.. Marshawn Wilson can play some ball too. Bo saw a lot of nice work by him this week.

I've liked Marshawn for a while. Needs to get that jumper more consistent, but I think he'd fit really well in a pressing, uptempo system like Pitino plans to use. I'd be surprised if he isn't keeping a close eye on him.

My confidence for landing some of these 2015 recruits were always high. Then I see that a schools like MSU offer them, and the confidence plummets. Someone tell me we'll get this guy, please.
 

As tight as the Ellenson family is I would think WI and MN have a very good shot at Henry....MN even more. Not just because Wally is here but because his parents are very involved with all the kids...have one at the U and one in Bemidgi.....I like our chances that Henry signs here. Plus I have some faith that Wally will break out this year and surprise some folks now that he is healthy.
