So are the Gophers down to James, Campbell and Krizancic? Or do they add one of the other DBs, Gaskin and Murphy, as well.

Christian Campbell. Must have been when we were down 19-9

We had 47 at that point according to the graphic so the game was close. The timeout must have gone really long I'm guessing.

per Sid:

• The Gophers are expected to announce the names of six preferred walk-ons Wednesday when the names of the 2014 scholarship players are announced: Apple Valley defensive back 1 Davis Anderson; Butler County (Kan.) Community College fullbacks 2 Miles Thomas and 3 Riley Ohafah; Perham long snapper 4 Payton Jordahl; Roseville quarterback 5 Jacques Perra; kicker 6 Emmit Carpenter of Ashwaubenon (Wis.); and Brainerd punter 7 Logan McElfresh.

Go Gophers!!

Isn't this seven names?

It gets worse - he forgot Josh Parks, which makes it 8.

In the last 8 years, their have been 15 "Tight Ends" to record a 40 yard dash under 4.60 at the NFL combine. This is after ~ 2 months of training specifically for the combine, meaning many of these guys won't run a time 40 that fast again. Further of those 15 guys, 6 of them are "move" guys or H-Back/Full back types that would not be effective in-line blockers. If Gibson runs a legit 4.80 at 247lbs as a high school senior, it's entirely possible that you are looking at a guy who runs a 4.65 at 260 at the NFL combine in 4-5 years.

This. Gibson is a stud athlete. The kind we need to see more of on the U campus.

The guy sitting in front of them in the maroon t-shirt looks like he should be playing a banjo.

Gibson, Campbell, James, & Moore. If we can hang on to Gibson, and then get these three will be huge for the D.

Moore can help with Hageman gone. What is going on with him? Have the Gophers cooled on him for some reason?

On offense Conner Krizancic is being recruited as a WR, but man he looks like a Johnny Manzel out there at QB. If we sign him, you never know if there is a true hidden gem. It is worth giving him a tryout at tossing a few balls. He switched to QB as a senior, and is POY? He has to be one special athlete.

Will there be any new commits before signing day or will all current recruits wait until signing day to announce?

Am I the only one thinking TE or DE for this kid? Put 40-50 lbs on him and I bet he could be a pretty solid contributor as a JR or SR.

PWO candidate with Ivy League offers

Ivy League education but small time football vs. a chance to earn a scholarship playing B1G football at a school with solid academics. He can't miss either way.

Go Gophers!

Considering Kill said 21-23, and he didn't shoot down the idea of some surprises, I think one or two faxes come in on Wednesday that we weren't expecting. Should be fun.

How long after Wednesday until there is some sort of pundit consensus regarding how the chips fell across the B1G recruiting-wise? A couple of days? Next day?

For what it's worth - New name showing up on 247 - J.T. Ibe, Safety/Athlete from Texas is listed as a solid verbal to Rice on Rivals but Matt Humbert from the Daily Gopher predicted today that he will go to the Gophers. Verbally committed to Rice back in July.

Humbert also predicts Jerry Gibson stays with the Gophers after others on 247 had him going to South Carolina.

Ibe took an official to Minnesota this weekend.

I was a guest speaker with the Lady's Aid Society of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. These old chicks knew more about what is happening with Gopher Recruiting than Gopher Hole commentors do. We had a blast. btw. we drank wine and gossiped.

More than GH'ers? What makes you think I'm not one of the old chicks you were chattin' with?

I would be really pumped if we were able to lock down Gibson on Wednesday. He has a really impressive size/speed profile. I think he'll end up at TE. I have my doubts that Elmore will stay at TE (he's so big, he's similar in size to Hageman coming out of HS). I also wouldn't be shocked if Lingen ended up at T. Either way, Gibson would really grow into the perfect size for TE and he's pretty athletic.

As far as Ibe. . .he makes sense. He has good size for a DB, he seems pretty athletic and he's probably a good student (got into Rice). We are growing into a bigger and bigger football. Ibe's a guy that will probably be close to 6'0" 200 lbs, if he stays at S after he redshirts. Wells, Thompson, Travis and Johnson are all over 200 lbs and the others are close.
