Gophers at New Mexico State - TV Broadcast Situation

I am now in the court of people pissed about dumping UNC for these bozos in New Mexico....not because of the money but because I have almost no shot of watching this game on anything but some russian website that will bombard me with spam while I try and watch the game through all the delays and blur. Ugh!

Just get DirecTV then you will not always have these concerns. Since dumping Comcast for DirecTV I always get everything...oh and my bill is $80 cheaper.

Friday's FOX Sports North PLUS Channel Listings:

Comcast: 963 (HD), 254 (SD)

For out-of-state fans, the game will be on Altitude 2, channel 682 on Directv. It's available in HD.

Altitude is a regional sports network serving Colorado and other states in the region. It has the rights to Avalanche and Nuggets games. Altitude 2 is its overflow channel.

"Gophers athletic director Norwood Teague said on WCCO Radio’s Sid Hartman show this morning that his department is working on making a telecast of Minnesota’s game at New Mexico State on September 7 available in this market. As reported earlier by Sports Headliners, the game is already scheduled for airing in parts of the Southwest including New Mexico."

Is this official yet? I heard Justin Gaard on KFAN tell Barreiro that this game still did not have local tv coverage.

No live FSN Plus broadcast after all. It'll be live on BTN2Go, now supported by Comcast, Altitude for Dish and I think DirecTV subscribers, and possibly ESPN3.com. There's an FSN tape delay broadcast on Sunday, but that's too little, too late.

What has been finalized for viewing options for the new mexico state game

WTF do they need an overflow channel for? Just in case a football game conflicts with a rodeo?

They have more viewers than FSN.

FYI, the game just showed up on my DISH box in replay on FSN at 2 AM CDT Sunday the 8th. You can at least watch that back in the TC on Sunday morning.

FCS-Pacific has the Gophers-NMSU game listed at 10:00 PM EST on Saturday on Comcast Cable/Sports Entertainment Package in Tallahassee. Life Is Good!

Just found it; thanks!

Watching the game on a computer........that's crap. I will have to set up the HDMI link to the TV and hope that picture quality is acceptable and it doesn't lag.......

The game starts at 7:00 CT/6:00 MT. That means the 9:00 CT start on FCS Pacific is either joined in progress (bad, but better than nothing) or tape delayed (unacceptable). The game will also be in SD only and one of the lowest quality SD feeds imaginable.

Looking at the schedule and the various TV contracts, the NMSU game will be the only game involving a Big Ten team unavailable live and in HD on a wide clearance TV channel (a few satellite subscribers with Altitude isn't enough when a special package is required and cable is shut out all the way).

Like some, I remember the days of one game per week on ABC and the Gophers being lucky to get one live TV game per year. So I realize we're in a comparable nirvana. However, standards have changed and the NMSU TV situation is unacceptable given the present status quo.

Yes - BTN should be carrying this game.

Now that BTN is down to two overflow channels, it legitimately has no capacity to televise the game at the given kickoff time. Yet it evidently won't release the rights even though its not actually producing the broadcast and is a secondary rights holder, getting the feed from NMSU's Aggie Vision. So now we're stuck with this mess.

That's what pisses me off.....and why does no one from the U or BTN address these issues publicly?

The game starts at 7:00 so that means it will be joined in progress. If you look, it has it listed from 9-10:30. You'll only get to see the last quarter or so.

I have Direct TV and get Altitude, Altitude2, but as of 9/1/2013 the only thing listed for sure is the Fox Sports North replay a 2 A.M. I am hoping as the week progresses and the lineup will be set. But this close to kick off and no clear idea, is frustrating.

We can't get a non-conference game on ANY kind of television, but North Dakota State gets to be on national television in one of their non-conference games?

B12 Champs vs FCS Champs warrants tv . . . you are playing New Mexico State. Just enjoy your easy win.
