I don't know how television newsrooms work, but Collin may have been assigned the story and not the initiator. I don't think she's a bad reporter per se, but this was a nothing-burger of a story.
I don't have a big problem with Mike Max (being an MIAC grad, I've appreciated his local angle stories) except that he's a front-runner supreme. I think the other angle is that he--and he's not alone--doesn't appreciate Fleck's style. He bought into Country Jer's flavor and, by extension, Claeys'. Max obviously cannot do this story even if he wanted to because good luck getting access to the Gopher athletic program if he went down that road.
