If this violates some kind of contractual obligation, is that cause?

That may be true. But Dawson is a player who has proven to be great under any type of coach, and if he went to a winning team and killing like Towns, folks would be complaining how we didn’t retain him. There are great players that coaches have to get control of and funnel in the right direction. Edwards played under Crean who I would not want as a coach. I admit I am surprised at where we are right now without Towns. Let's see how the season ends. Garcia could be a really good player on a well coached team.
We had a decent team last year with a poor coach. Christie returning would have done a lot for Garcia this year as Garcia might have become the second option- which is what he should be on a decent team. Last year was Garcia's best year as a player because we had a point guard that distributed and other options that could score. Payne was a big that could take the physical pressure off.So basically the Gophers haven’t had any good players in a long time, since they haven’t won in a long time. Christie, an NBA draft pick last year but I guess he’s not good cause his team didn’t win last year
Meh, we're asking a 6'8 220 guy to check a 7'0 260 guy 1v1 in the post. Now do Fox. Crowl is eating his lunch. It’s not even close between the 2
I agree. He’s not physically talented enough to guards guy like Crowl. And he’s not skilled enough to be a perimeter player. So why is Fox playing big minutes on a big ten club?Meh, we're asking a 6'8 220 guy to check a 7'0 260 guy 1v1 in the post.
An obvious outcome to an unreasonable ask.
Knowing our Administration, they would just suspend Ben from recruiting for 30 days.If this violates some kind of contractual obligation, is that cause?
Yea, that has nothing to do with the extreme discrepancy of talent, coaching, game plan, spacing, system etc between the two teams tonight.Where has he won?
Here's an example of how deceptive Garcia is. Crowl tonight puts up 18 points on 7 shots with 5 assists and plays sound defense. Garcia puts up 22 points on 17 shots with no assists. Everyone would say they want Garcia over Crowl but who plays winning ball?
His coach got fired at Marquette and at UNC his grandfather died and his father almost died of COVID when he was starting on a team that eventually finished national runner upHe seems like an OK player, but there's a reason he left both Marquette and UNC.
A team that went 12-6 with him and 17-4 without him.His coach got fired at Marquette and at UNC his grandfather died and his father almost died of COVID when he was starting on a team that eventually finished national runner up
Come on. He’s a 3 level scoring, 6’10 skilled big. Can shoot, handle, and pass. Hard to blame him for this shit show. It shouldn’t be hard to build around a player like him and we probably won’t see a player as good as him in years, very easily one of the best players in the conference
ummm, he lost his starting spot on that team. Then left the team that was struggling. And they went on a rampage after he left then made the title game as a 8 seedHis coach got fired at Marquette and at UNC his grandfather died and his father almost died of COVID when he was starting on a team that eventually finished national runner up
Okay so what do you call Dickinson? Cause I’d say the same about him. Neither of them are athletic enough for the league, but great college playersDawson is talented no doubt and can help teams. But he's clearly not a go to guy. You just called him a 6'10 skilled big that can shoot, handle and pass..........uhhhh those guys don't play 5 years in college at 23 years old
He hasn't ever been on a good team.
Dawson is talented. But flawed. If he wanted to be he could be an excellent supporting stud on a good team.
He's a good player. Not a great one. The game is a team game and it is played on both ends.Yea, that has nothing to do with the extreme discrepancy of talent, coaching, game plan, spacing, system etc between the two teams tonight.
But let's blame our all Big Ten player who could play for anyone in the country for that beat down. And who objectively had a great game tonight,
I'm as rage frustrated as the rest of you but holy shit.
There's a middle ground. Garcia is a very good college player and @bga1 "cooling" on him is somewhat cope. But he's also not very engaged this year and often seems checked out. I don't entirely blame him. The team sucks. But he knew what he was coming back for.“Ok player” come on this is becoming dumb. He should’ve just left cause if this is going to be the narrative around him. He’s a really good college player, one of the best players in the country that’s stuck on a team that Ben Johnson built
Someone siphon some gas from his rental car just in case it isn't...If this violates some kind of contractual obligation, is that cause?
Who cares? The “die hards” called for Pitino to be fired just like the casuals. Not me thoughIt's a good thing that this game got buried by being on Peacock and because the semi-final football game is on. Only diehard fans watched this debacle.
Instead of being 0-5, they would be 0-5.It’s scary to think what this team would be like without him.
Okay so I hope you don’t blame Hawkins and Payne for transferring. There's a middle ground. Garcia is a very good college player and @bga1 "cooling" on him is somewhat cope. Of course. I hear if you don't make your FT's at Lakeville North it results in severe beatings.I didn’t have an opportunity to see the game tonight. I’m assuming wisky made most of their free throws?
Blame Garcia? No. The Gopher chose to pay him. If they did a poor job of assessing who to pay, that's on Ben and staff.Okay so I hope you don’t blame Hawkins and Payne for transferring.
But steady! This is the slowest Big Ten team I have ever seen.
You’re right he’s much more of a problem defensively. But yeah switch the goal posts to fit your narrative manDickinson also extremely flawed. And has gotten a lot of flack himself as a go to guy and whether a team can go deep with him
He's also considerably better than Dawson
So you wouldn’t want top 10 pick Tre Johnson from Texas on your team. He’s winless in conference, let’s be consistentInstead of being 0-5, they would be 0-5.
What goal posts did I shift? You’re right he’s much more of a problem defensively. But yeah switch the goal posts to fit your narrative man
That’s about the only good decision they made. Garcia is significantly better than both of those playersBlame Garcia? No. The Gopher chose to pay him. If they did a poor job of assessing who to pay, that's on Ben and staff.
If Fox were guarding Garcia, Garcia would score 40.Meh, we're asking a 6'8 220 guy to check a 7'0 260 guy 1v1 in the post.
He's not a center, everyone with a brain can see that.
An obvious outcome to an unreasonable ask.
None of us have enough information to assess the choices. Would you trade Garcia for Hawkins AND Payne? I would. But I have no idea if that was an option. That’s about the only good decision they made. Garcia is significantly better than both of those players
