I think they’re both great college players. Marginals NBA guys. Garcia is quicker laterally and can guard more on the perimeter. Dickinson as a rim protector is not ideal

All I said is that Garcia is not a great first option in college(he isn't). He's never been on a good team(he hasn't). That there's a reason he's still in college at 23 with the skills you claim he has(he's flawed).

You then weirdly brought up Dickinson. And I agreed Dickinson is also flawed, which is being talked about nationally too. I said he's considerably better than Dawson though(he is)

You then told me I shifted goal posts. Which was the most blatant misuse of a term I have ever heard.

He scored like 20 points against OSU. He shouldn't start and shouldn't play much against a team like Wisconsin, but saying he can't play in the B1G at all is silly. He played a lot of good minutes last year.

Okay well what are the Badgers? Or the Buckeyes? Or the Boilers? Or the Spartans? Those are all big ten teams and all teams Dawson would be the best player on man. None of those teams have anyone within the realm of a Garcia

Asuma would be on the team either way. That's a false choice. I simply said if you could keep Hawkins and Payne with the NIL funds allocated to Garcia you'd do it. I think you would be deep in the minority opposing that.

But yes, what we have is a coaching problem.

I do for sure. I wouldn’t trade a big time, skilled big like Garcia for tiny, floor general like Smith. No chance

Braden is better than Garcia at literally just about everything on a basketball floor haha. Except volume rebounding and Braden for a 6 foot guard rebounds far better than Dawson as a 6'11 forward.

This is one of the dumbest things anyone has ever said on this board and it is zero insult to Dawson at all. Smith is unanimously a top 10 player in the sport. And people will have him as high as 4th.

I’m sorry come on. I love Paint the Coach. I think Smith is terrific but he’s a floor general. The equivalent as a “game manager” as a QB in football. He’s not special, he’s very steady but he’s tiny. Newton physically overwhelmed in in the championship

Of course they would. Minnesota is sadly irrelevant in college hoops. Purdue is thriving. Painter is one of the best coaches in the country, if not thee best
 

All the players meetings and what not is cute. I feel for Ben and the players because I do believe they want to win and the effort is there. Ben just has no idea how to actually execute that at a level like this to make those wins happen. Simple as that.

I do think it would be in Coyle's best interest to just put everyone out of the misery at this point. Let Thorson or someone else take over. The players will still play hard. Maybe we find a magical win or two to make people feel good about the season.

Just call it off at this point.

What are you talking about haha. He's averaging 15.4 on 55.2% eFG% as a 6 foot guard. He's got a FOURTY SEVEN% assist rate.

Floor general?? He's an incredible player. That makes his teammates better.

You saying Dawson would be Purdues best player is certifiably nuts. Dawson isn't even better than TKR who is Purdues second best player.

I truly understand he has good stats and is likely better than I give him credit for, but doesn't something about him just feel like a non-winner?

I don't feel like he makes players around him better. He gets his, and that's what it is.

Maybe I'm harsh, that's just how I view it.
