Comment From CAS
Talk about the upcoming running back competition.

GopherSports:
ML: Competition at every position is a great thing. All the players know when they come into this program they will have to compete everyday to get on the field and stay on the field. This fall tailback will be no different.

Comment From Goldy in Florida
Coach. I know that all of Minnesota has been impressed with the coaching staff and what you guys have accomplished. My question? Is this the most fun that you have ever had...coaching in the Big Ten? Much success to the Gophers!

GopherSports:
ML: While at times it has been a lot of fun and very rewarding, as a staff we still feel there is a lot of unfinished business. The chase continues and we are as hungry as ever to win a Big Ten title for the people of Minnesota.

Comment From TCF=UnitedWeStand
Where will Jeff Jones be? RB? Slot? Both?

GopherSports:
ML: We never paint guys into a corner in specific roles. If a guy can help us on the field, if has always been Kill's and our philosophy, to get them on the field.

*****

Interesting, not the answer I thought he would come back with.

Comment From Jashon
Is Moore an interior lineman?

GopherSports:
ML: Yes. Having arrived this January will give Tyler an opportunity to contribute early in his career at either guard or center.

Comment From Paul
Who seems to be in the lead to replace Tommy Olson at center this season? A very important field general type of position. Anyone in particular standing out?

GopherSports:
ML: This spring will be important for a number of players to find the best mix of guys in the OL. Jon Christenson, Conner Mayes, Brian Bobek and even Tyler Moore will all have an opportunity to work at center in the spring. Also, Matt Leidner and Jared Weyler will work at center in the spring.

Comment From Mr. Brown
Do you see any two way players in this class potentially?

GopherSports:
ML: Not two way players, but there are several players who could end up on either side of the ball. We love their versatility and there are players who can help fill holes if needed.

Comment From Dbaldrich1
We saw some success in the passing game this year, but it was very inconsistent. Are there specific technical or mental things that each of the QB's have been tasked with focusing on during the off-season with hopes of improving the consistency of the passing offense?

^^^ They retracted that question :(

GopherSports:
ML: You always go into the season wanting to redshirt every incoming freshman. If a young man shows the ability and maturity to help us win games we will get him involved as much as he can handle as a true freshman.

^^^ Not sure what this is in response to... Something wonky going on.

Comment From tony
will we see some more down the field pass this year? we have some big wr's now, better match ups again smaller db's

GopherSports:
ML: Yes. The continued development of the pass game is something that will only help moving forward. It is definitely a priority.

Comment From W. Hanson
What about the competition at Tight End and who do see stepping up.

GopherSports:
ML: Plsek will be our primary TE going into 2015. Lingen and Wozniak will continue to develop giving us great at TE. At the H position we will be looking for a number of qualified candidates to replace Maxx, including Duke.

Comment From Ryan
With all the young talent at the skill positions, does the offense look to play more up tempo.

GopherSports:
ML: We are always looking for ways to be more productive and more explosive. I would not rule out revving up the tempo more in 2015.

Comment From Fargopher
It seems there are more walk-on's than years past. is this true and can you give a shout out to any in particular?

GopherSports:
ML: The shout out goes to Coach Sherels who has done a great job of recruiting in the state and has really brought a great deal of excitement to the high schools in Minnesota. This is a direct correlation to the number of young men who want to join our program.

Comment From CAS
Talk about your relationship with MN High School Coaches and recruiting in MN. How important is in-state recruiting?

GopherSports:
ML: We feel our relationship with he HS coaches in Minnesota has never been stronger. It was a priority with our staff to make sure the coaches of this state know we are here for them and can't be successful without their continued support and cooperation.

Claeys is up next

GopherSports:
Two more NLIs are in: Antonio Shenault
Rashad Still
