Yeah, ESPN isn't exactly loading up their schedule with Mountain West games. That's why I thought he'd opt for ISU and the Big XII.
 

The next announcement I'll be on the lookout for is when UNLV announces hiring Pete Kaffey as an assistant.
 

I love going to Hilton Coliseum for an occasional Cyclones game (fantastic atmosphere) and have always enjoyed following Iowa State's program back to the Johnny Orr days, but let's be honest, did anyone really think a handler would steer his meal ticket to Ames? Probably a few more people in Vegas with deep pockets (for the handler) than in Ames!
 

Is there any surprise that his tight nit group couldn't keep a secret long enough for the TV series. Someone had to be the guy that leaked the info out....

First, I'm glad ISU didn't get him.

Second, I want to know where Kaffey ends up in all of this. Vaughn doesn't sign until the spring, and I cannot imagine UNLV would mention that Kaffey got hired today. My guess is that Kaffey gets named to an assistant at UNLV sometime on a Friday night when March Madness is going on. I'd probably go with the first Friday. That way, they can keep it as quiet as possible.

Very interesting that Matt Abdelmassih unfollowed Rashad after that tweet. I wonder if Rashad pulled something completely unexpected, which is why Matt is so pi$$ed.

He's probably just p*ssed in general that he recruited a kid for years only to get beat out by a team that started recruiting him a few months ago and plays in a lesser conference.

The conspiracy theorist in me is wondering if this asst coach and Vaughn are in on the decision together and wanted to surprise everyone when he actually picks ISU.
 


if NCAAB recruiting was WWE, Vaughn would be picking Minnesota while giving Pitino the 2-sweet NWO salute simultaneously while Norwood announces a home and home series with ISU starting next year in Ames.

UNLV had the #1 pick in the NBA draft last year and is bringing in a potential top 10-15 national class in 2014-15. I'm guessing assistant coach Stacey Augmon knows something about what it takes to get to the NBA. It's also an area of the country that he is now familiar with and a fun city if he's just looking to play one year of college. Plus, they draw okay, even better than Minnesota.
