Guys, I think these rumors might have some truth to them.

Considering he's announcing tomorrow and in MN, this is a very good sign for us. He must want to announce with his family in attendance that he's choosing his hometown school.

If you count Iowa State as close enough to home then yes it is possible.

We were removed from his list. If you are still hopeful than you no longer have Gopher pessimism.

I don't like our chances one bit, but I do think you are onto something. The kid has been living away from home playing basketball, and maybe it wasn't as much fun as he thought it would be. Maybe it all of a sudden occurred to him that he does want to be near his family and childhood friends. I very much doubt that is the case here, but lots of people didn't give the U.S. any shot against the Soviets in 1980.

At least the U.S. was competing. We are not even in contention, we were removed from his list. That is the equivalent of not qualifying for the Olympics.

I think you take his words too literally. Kids change their mind. Tyus never took us off his list but we knew he wasn't going to Minnesota, maybe Vaughan is the opposite. Remember, just last July Vaughan seemed most likely to choose to Minnesota of the big three.

Again not making a prediction here, but Kentucky was off his list until late in the fall. He's changed his list before.

That being said, it's been too quiet on this front for way too long for me to get too excited about this.
