Vaughn IS NOT going to ISU! UNLV is the winning bidder!

I just saw Kaffey sitting court side at Target Center....did Flip get him an "internship"?

Flip let him know that Hoiberg will be the next Wolves coach, so he may as well stay home! He also assured him that he'd pick him in the 1st round no matter what. Flip loves the Gophers. It makes perfect sense.

watched one last weekend of hoops... and changed his mind.

unlv gets destroyed by colorado state and eeks out a victory over Wyoming. (next year is a road trip to Laramie in January in front of 6,000 fans. yikes.)
Iowa state lets some guy ball-hog his way to 48... not enough shots to go around.. especially after Fred is gone to the NBA.
minnie grinds out a victory over Indiana at a sold out barn in front of a national audience.

RV clicks his heels: 'there's no place like home'.

it would be so dumb if we are losing a home town kid to unlv or isu, just sad tbh. We lost that other SG from minny to xaiver which was a slap to the face as well. So sick of kids not wanting to play for the hometown team, I mean I understand blue bloods, but ISU? UNLV? Xaiver? ugh...

They all cheat, obviously. Haven't you been paying attention?

As great as it would be to get this news I wont hold my breath. I probably would struggle to believe it anyway.

I know most of the posters in this thread are posting tongue in cheek but the original article that started this is rubbish

But Rick got six pages of commentary and a ton of clicks...

Maybe he's going to announce he's gay? That will guarantee him at least 2 or 3 days on the ESPN news cycle.

The thought of the news cycle gave me pause this morning. We seem to see recruits who want to get more media attention on their signing. A few weeks ago we saw some high school player fake putting one hat on his head before picking another school. Rashad could definitely one-up that if he removed a school from his list, planted his quotes about the Strib, and then faked everybody out by declaring Minnesota. Still not saying I believe Rashad is considering the U, but I could see an athlete someday pull a stunt like that.

 This thread's level of conspiracy plays second fiddle only to the one regarding the second shooter on the grassy knoll. Bravo!

Vaughn obviously trying to conjure up some drama out of nothing, milking it for more than it's worth.

My feelings exactly. Vaughn's people trying to generate some more needless attention for this kid.

I think you are forgetting the conspiracy of the magic loogie with the second spitter on the gravelly road :)

Not a word about Gophers... (CBS link at bottom)

"Let's quickly go through what each school brings to the table.

Iowa State: The Cyclones have been involved longer than any other school on his list, showing interest and offering before most of the powers came into the picture. Head coach Fred Hoiberg gives his players freedom on the offensive end, which fits well into Vaughn's skillset. Moreover, Hoiberg spent time in Minnesota with the Timberwolves, which has helped Iowa State's relationship with Vaughn's family.

UNLV: The Runnin' Rebels turned up their attention once Vaughn made the move to Findlay Prep, given the school's location. They were involved before that – but the high school only helped. Vaughn has had a chance to see the team practices and games, giving him the opportunity to see how he fits. Dave Rice needs shooters for next season – and Vaughn would get the chance immediately to start.

North Carolina: The Tar Heels seemed like one of the early favorites for Vaughn, but commitments from perimeter players Joel Berry, Theo Pinson and Justin Jackson takes away some of the opportunity for immediate playing time.

Kentucky: The Wildcats turned their focus to Vaughn over the past couple of months, but it might be too late. They already have a commitment from Devin Booker at the two-guard position, and while Vaughn likes the idea of playing for Kentucky, they're running behind the top two.

Well duhh he cut us from his list silly! Of course the writers aren't going to talk about the Gophers.

Why are we blaming Rashad Vaughn (or his "people") for a ridiculously speculative article written on a Minnesota website? There is absolutely no evidence that he had anything to do with this. We are way too quick to demonize teenagers whether or not they've done anything wrong. I think some of us are watching too many re-runs of Jesse Ventura's show. Not everything is a conspiracy.

According to Ryan James via a source close to Vaughn UNLV will be the choice tonight.

Not a surprise at all. UNLV seems like the right place to be for a recruit & his handler. They'll be a good fit in Vegas.

Not really a surprise Gophers didn't get any of the Big 3 (maybe Travis?) but still think at the end of the day we'll rue not getting JP Macura. He was gettable.

Perfect and fitting. That said, hard to imagine this is the best place for his development and showcasing for the NBA.
