If coach P can get Black that would be huge for next season... Not only because Black is good but because it puts Minnesota on the map for recruiting...

He would have a real nice end of his college career here, starting and get plenty of minutes. It would be pretty fun.

While I wish this were the case because it would help our cause, I think Black would get just as much playing time at Duke. They're losing Mason Plumlee (34.7 mininutes per game) and have only his younger brother Marshall to replace him. Marshall is nowhere near Mason's level and there's no way he would be playing for Duke if his last name wasn't Plumlee. He just isn't very good.

To be fair, he was a pretty highly regarded recruit, so... But yeah, he has not developed quite like his brother did. I would imagine there's slightly more playing time available here, I think the biggest pro we have is a style, excitement of the new coach, and maybe (depending on relationships) a past with the Hollins'.

Evan Williams is a guy who got his name put on a whiskey bottle and people are going crazy because he tweeted after being dead for about 2 centuries... or it could be a different Evan Williams.

I'm impressed Coach P even has us in the mix considering all of the schools that reached out to Black initially. I think we have one hell of a recruiter on our hands, you guys.

But what if we compared him to his dad when he coached the Boston Celtics? Lol kidding kidding.

Agree completely. Pitino seems to be off to the right start, excited for when he actually has some time to recruit guys, instead of the spring last minute.
 

If Tarick Black comes here, then Andre Hollins is far more valuable to this team than we thought. Apparently he can recruit too.

They have Amile Jefferson 6-8 F, Alex Murphy 6-8 F, Josh Hairston 6-7 F, along with Marshall. Also, have Jabari Parker 6-8 F to go with those players. My assumption is they would love to land Black, but Coach K loves developing players over the four years, which he could do with those guys (Jefferson FR, Murphy FR, Hairston JR, Marshall FR).

Front Court would be shared among all those players ultimately limiting Black's playing time.

Have to imagine Black would make a decision fairly soon with the spring signing period starting today. I wonder if he'll take a bunch of visits or will just commit.

The signing period goes through May 15, so I'm guessing he'll take several visits before deciding. Let's hope the snow melts before he visits.

Coach P really does seem highly motivated and as active as advertised. Not only getting into the mix with T Black, but tracking in and out of the state, multiple classes, the way it's supposed to be done. Keep on keeping on Coach P!

Good news is he visited Milwaukee a couple of times.. not too afraid of the cold & snow.
