@memphisroar: Word is that Kansas will be in soon as well RT @TheDevilsDen: Duke visiting Tarik Black tonight for visit

Go Gophers!!

Never mind, I was conflating Black and Buckles in my head.

There's a big guy (can't remember his name off the top of my head) Pitt is recruiting to replace Steven Adams. Not sure if he's a freshman or a juco. I wonder if the Gophers have any interest in him? Just doesn't seem like there are a lot of big guys available.

The OSU beat writer for the Columbus Dispatch just tweeted that Black's high school coach said OSU is involved.

Coach K and several assistants then met Tuesday in Memphis with Memphis transfer Tarik Black, sources confirmed to SNY.tv after Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com first reported it.

San Diego State also visited with him last week, sources told SNY.tv.

The 6-9 Black averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds last season for the Tigers.

“I will not be conducting any interviews during this process,” he said by text.

@GaryParrishCBS: The latest to visit Tarik Black in Memphis? Kansas coach Bill Self. Last night, according to a source

Gary Parrish: How Tarik Black went from a reserve to the nation's most desirable big

Mike Krzyzewski and Bill Self are battling over Tarik Black.

The idea that that sentence could've ever been typed would've seemed laughable at pretty much any point during Black's high school career or first three seasons of college. But it's a factual sentence now because supply is low, demand is high and there are games that must be won in seven months.

What? Stupid. He was a borderline top 50 recruit with multiple high-major offers. The idea of Duke and/or Kansas wanting a borderline top 50 recruit being "laughable" is idiotic.

@bbaptisthoops: Tarik Black update: Confirmed that #Buckeyes had an in-home with 6-9 Memphis transfer. No campus visit scheduled yet. #buckbk

Go Gophers!!

@MemphisRoar: On a completely different note, word I've heard has Oregon well in front for Memphis transfer Tarik Black.

Go Gophers!!

Mike Moser to Oregon... Not sure if that means anything for Black, but it might....?

Mike Moser to Oregon... Not sure if that means anything for Black, but it might....?

In 2012-13, Moser suffered a shoulder injury in a December win over California and missed six of the next eight games. Following the injury Moser's numbers declined, in part due to moving to the perimeter to make room for super frosh Anthony Bennett.

Moser's versatility will allow him to play either SF or PF at Oregon. He shot 44-133 from 3-pt range his sophomore season.

Ducks fans claim it will only increase the chances to land him... not so sure, we could find out soon Black is on their campus now.

I'm not concerned about him going to Georgetown. I'm more concerned that the gophers are not mentioned much anymore.

Well let's be honest with ourselves. Minnesota is a program that seems to be on the rise. Oregon is a bit ahead of us in that department. Georgetown is a big name and is known for producing bigs that make it to the NBA (Monroe, guy with the spurs).

Don't get me wrong, Minnesota could compete with anyone, but we have the cold and lack of success compared to other schools against us.

The only place Black is being mentioned for Minnesota is GH. Maybe someone outside of Minnesota whispered it a month ago, but haven't heard boo about the Gophers being in the mix since then? Seems to me Gophers are not on his radar at all.

His AAU coach said early on that we were definitely in the mix. Then a couple of college basketball reporters said it was between us and Duke. It seems like it has been a pretty fluid situation with lots of different "leaders." Minnesota, Duke, Kansas, Oregon, Georgetown, and tOSU have all been a "leader" or strong contender at some point.

Katz- Meanwhile, Memphis' Tarik Black was on campus Tuesday and will leave Wednesday for visits to Georgetown, Kansas and Duke, according to a source with direct knowledge.

@ZachJohnsonGI: Rakeem Buckles is still hoping to transfer to Minnesota to play for the #Gophers

Pretend you are him. Not being from MN and having any ties to program outside memphis players. Would you rather play for a team that has a 50/50 chance to make the tourney or any of those teams Katz provided?

I LOVE the Gophers but there is no chance we land him. I'll eat my words if he does.

If Black is on this team we have a much better than 50/50 shot at the tourney.

I'd be surprised if he goes to Georgetown. A history of getting upset in the tourney early every year, and they already have Josh Smith (who may have eaten part of Memphis) lined up to play there the better half of next year.
