Reid Travis Picks Stanford Over U

You are being dense. Travis would still be all of those things, but he would have gone to Stanford instead of Minnesota, which increases his chances even more. I've read all your posts on the subject. I don't think you quite get it.

Is dense the word of the day or just the preferred word for the academic elite? I'm saying he would still be able to have his choice of grad schools and job opportunities WHILE also being the hometown hero and playing in front of his friends and family. Maybe you should go back and read all of my posts again. I have never said Minnesota is a better school than Stanford. Just that he can get a good education, go to a great grad school (somewhere else), and still be the hometown hero.

Line has started at DLS high...just a few people but its going. I tweeted to a guy in line asking for a pic. Will post if he posts.

genuinely upset I won't be able to see the reaction on GH after his announcement.

Reid in his redshirt from earlier today!

All this excitement has worn me out. I'm going to go take a nap.

Is nobody giving live updates from the Vu? I know we're talking about a 17 year old, but it just doesn't feel right to not have reports from the Vu on an important day like today.

Everything I've seen these last couple weeks just leads me to think he will pick the Gophers and I don't think he is the type of kid to get hometown fans hopes up if he knew he wasn't going to stay here, still nervous about the announcement but also confident he will pick the Gophers as well.

Hmmmm.....green wall. Jury's still out as to what that means.

I'm agreeing with you. What people don't understand is that when discussing people with an MBA, JD, MD, etc. the undergrad matters little. Would you prefer to retain a lawyer who did undergrad at Stanford, and then went to Whittier Law School (voted the worst law school by abovethelaw.com whoever they are, just using that school as an example). Or a guy that did his undergrad at "Brand X" university but attended Yale Law School? My college roommate, at The "U" went on to Johns Hopkins med school, and graduated #1 in his class. It's worked out pretty well for him.

Looks like gophs, unlikely of Reid to issue a twitter invite inclusive of gopher fans, to announce cardinals

Ha! I have a buddy that went to Whittier. He's an employed lawyer and everything. Ok, back to being depressed about this...

So that definitely does not look like the gym.

Reid took off afternoon classes to head over to the MOA and grab some gear from Goldy's Lockerroom before the big announcement.
Insider snapped this photo:

This place is either gonna be a disaster area, or mardi gras in about 45 minutes.
