Reid Travis Picks Stanford Over U

Vaughn should be target #1
Reid should be target #2

These two would start day one.

This isn't a race or ranking of Tyus, Rashad or Reid. Tubby and his staff would be happy to take one, two and preferably all of them. Gopher fans should be welcoming any of the three at upcoming Gopher games.

Looks like marky mark wasnt the only one at the game...

Tubby Smith watched Reid Travis score 21 tonight as DeLaSalle won by 65 over St Agnes.

Let's make some noise for the DeLaSalle boys tomorrow night!

We especially need a Reid Travis chant, as when Tyus is in the house, he gets the majority of the attention.

Reusse tweet: "DeLaSalle's Reid Travis gets a visit from Notre Dame hoops coach Mike Brey on Tuesday."

Go Gophers!!

Will be looking at Travis, plus 2015 prospects Jarvis Johnson and Sacar Anim @Providence Academy Tuesday Evening.

Tyus is still #1, but I like Reid ahead of Rashad. And GophersOnTheRise has described him nicely. He's not a Trevor, more of a bigger Joe Coleman.

I would really like to get Travis, but I would much rather have Rashad if I had to choose. Not many people can fill it up like he can and I think we have a good chance at picking up two stud big men the following year in Illikainen and Ellenson.

I like Rashad first then Tyus and Reid. Tyus not big or great athlete. Reid undersized 4 under skilled 3. Rashad total turnkey package

Yep, my priorities for 2014 are...

1) Rashad Vaughn
2) Tyus Jones
3) Reid Travis
4) Dominique Collier
5) Josh Perkins
6) Goodluck Okonoboh

Great list. Must get Vaughn and Travis.

Just an opinion here but I have a feeling Vaughn is one and done, Tyus plays 2 years, and Reid all four. I would take any of the three and hope for Illikanen the year after.

Sir, with all due respect, this is almost the same as pulling a number out of a hat.

They are still in the 1st semester of their Junior years in HS. While you might have an idea, theres no way you can be sure of how their development goes over the next 2-6 years, and that will take its own path.

My wider prediction...

Tyus: 1-2 years in college
Rashad: 1-3 years in college
Reid: 2-4 years in college

I kind of hope that is not Vaughn's goal, I can't think of a one and done Tubby has coached, even Syracuse doesn't have many one and dones, Kentucky or Kansas will look more attractive to him if that is the case.

college years

I am just looking at top 12 recruits over the last handful of years. Those who can really score are very coveted by the NBA is all. More so than a pass first point guard who can score. And on Reid, there just aren't that many 6'7" pf in the league. I cannot see him playing sf or growing 2 inches. Not that he won't play their some day but his measurables will make him less of a comodity than it will for Vaughn.

I am just saying I only feel devasted if we miss all 3. Even though talent wise they go Tyus, Rashaad, and Reid the length of stay might make any of them more or less important.

My priorities
1. Vaughn
2. Travis
3. Tyus

Tyus is definately the best, but I think we have a better chance of getting 2/3 if we go for Reid and Rashad. We probably won't get Tyus, so if we go after him the hardest, Rashad and Reid may feel unmawnted, and we may go 0-fer. I say 2 is better than 0.

per Sid:

"While everyone knows that DeLaSalle junior Reid Travis is being heavily recruited for basketball, the high school quarterback was just offered a football scholarship to Iowa, and his coach said that an offer from Wisconsin is soon to follow."

I hope you know Sid doesn't actually write these columns...

@isurecruitlists: 2014 Reid Travis had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2015 Jarvis Johnson had 15 points for DeLaSalle (MN) in a win today, via @tchoopsczar.

Go Gophers!!

Was at the game tonight (*packed*).. Eden Prairie is a solid team and has some fairly strong kids inside.. they were trying to double and triple team Reid when he got the ball near the bucket.. sometimes though, it was just no use. The young man wasn't going to be denied.

DLS has a very nice team. Different parts and pieces that work together - a team.

No offer from Iowa or Stanford yet. A Qualified and open top 30 2014 would have way more Ultra High Major offers than Reid. Technically he is top 30 from ESPN recruiting which his highest number some others put him in the 75-100 range Is offer sheet looks more like a top 75-100 kid which would be a very good get for a program like the U

I told you to give it time. Now with Michigan State and Arizona offering is he worthy of his ranking? He wasn’t available in the fall to work out for schools because of football.

Iowa, Rutgers and BC in Football and top 30 in basketball? I’m being sincere in asking, what other MN two-sport H.S. athletes got recruited to this level in both sports?

I asked this to a Pro and College scout in a Reddit AMA and this was his repsonse: (Edit: the scouts name is James Kerti)

What do you think of Minnesota's BIG 3 high schoolers out of the class 0f 2014: Tyus Jones, Rashad Vaughn, and Reid Travis? Do you think they have futures in the NBA?

"I LOVE Reid Travis. I'm a very big fan of him especially."

(edit2: I have no idea if this dude is legit just thought it was interesting he likes Reid the most)

Joe Mauer baseball and football. Travis looks have bumped his free throw % up from the 60% range to 70%+ range this year. Travis is getting top 50 attention. Most top 30 Kids will get a Hit from one of the big 4 Kansas, Duke,Kentucky or North carolina
