Official "Viva Las Vegas!!" Thread - Trip Plans, Ticket Qs, Tailgating, Casino Advice

We walked up to the ticket office at the stadium an hour before game time vs Hawaii last year and had no problem getting tickets at all. To be honest, though, I don't remember seeing anyone scalping tickets anywhere.

I agree, scalping UNLV football tickets is a low profit endeavor. My tickets have always been on the east sideline (visitors side), so I don't know about the west side of the stadium. Parking has always been free, but there is a fence around the stadium and I have seen people selling as people walk through gates in that fence. It might be better to walk up to the stadium and stand on the steps near the ticket booth. There you are more likely to meet a regular fan who just has an extra ticket or two and might be glad to sell them for anything. I have season tickets (35 yard line) and they are like $17.00 each. So even if you could get one at that face value it would be a deal. Best of luck.

I'm kind of late to the party but going to Vegas for this w some friends. Does anyone know...

1) Can we still get tix in the U of M section, and is there a URL or phone to do so?
2) Is there a URL for the alumni assoc tailgate?

Today is the last day to get the early bird pricing ($50 instead of $60) for the alumni tailgate. I just booked for 3!

If you call the ticket office and are unsuccessful with getting tickets in the visitors section you could probably look online for tickets anywhere around the sections 103, 104, and 203.
Good Luck

AuEGO4...are you gonna text me pics of the big party at Vegas like you did from the USC game last year? I'd appreciate it if you would.

Single game UNLV football tickets went on sale today, so I stopped off at the UNLV ticket office and purchased my 2 tickets for the game; $40 each on the 50 yard line behind the Minnesota bench (section 107). I was told by the lady behind the glass that tickets in the Minnesota section are end zone through about the 15 yard line and also are $40 each, so 50 yard line seats seemed like the better deal. I can't wait for the game! Minnesota better win big or I will have to eat a lot of crow in front of my co-workers due to my continually excessive praising of the Gophers.
.
Tully: Stop by. My season tix are in 107, row 7, seats 1-3.

Message me the number and I will. My sister is getting married out there 2 days after the tailgate so we are planning some fun shinanigans.

I shall PM you with my cell. Thanks. OOOOOOOOO it sounds like a party time for AuEGO4!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Edit.....Your sister is no dummy.

2 WEEKS!! I spent a portion of last night looking into time travel because this is going to be longest span in my life waiting around until Tuesday to fly out of Pittsburgh. I'm also thinking that if I can win some money while up their a late night Ski-U-Mah tattoo might be in order to remember this trip by. I'm still ticketless, but not really worried....i'll get that sorted out.

I suggest anybody thinking about the tailgating option to pass. I went to the Gopher tailgate party when they were down here in Florida (Florida Atlantic) and it sucked big time. The line for food was a 45 minute wait and the food was horrible. A hot dog and a bag of chips.
I would feed better food to my dog. LOL!

I think Gopherholers should greet each other with their moniker along with "...damn glad to meet you". Of course, there are a couple of guys here that I would then want to punch in the mouth. Of course, they won't be at the game...

Last years Alumni Assocation tailgate at USC had decent food but they charged an arm and a leg for what you got (One plate of food and a drink). The Goaline Club does a much better job in my opinion.

Just got my 2 tickets in 107 row 32 off of UNLVTickets.com. Staying at NYNY.

i just got some 19.00 dollar seats off of unlvtickets.com since i'm poor, and since i'm poor im staying at circus circus and have zero shame about it :) I'm just ready to get it on and drink some beers/margaritas. I've never been so jacked for anything in my life.

My recollection was that the food was very good, and we were given two drink tickets each, and it was $25 each.d Now, I had a 16 ounce Vodka Soda the the LA County officer was willing to let me carry in since "it looks like water" ,regardless it was a fun day.

The $50 two hour open bar before the game deal, under a tent looks like a great start to me!

Good place for you to eat is the Peppermill. Close to Circus, Circus. It is between the Wynn and Riviera. Sit in the dinner side not the nite club side. Large portions and fairly priced. If your up to it for dessert, try the banana split.

Good Call on the Peppermill, just looked at their website, and YoungstownGopher likes what he see's.

Have any of you guys had any issues with stubhub? I ordered tickets about a month ago and was told my tickets would be sent 8/15 and I just received an email that said tickets still havent been sent. I fly out 8/27 and am starting to get concerned that I was screwed

I had a similar experience for the USC game last year. I was able to print out tickets at the hotel, and was also able to get better looking tickets at the will call window, which my son wanted as a souvenir.

Mine werent supposed to arrive until the 27th but I received an email that they were mailed 2 days ago!

Alright, game day is only 9 days away, so this thread needs to get back onto the first page.

I know many of you who will be there for the game are going to the organized Alumni Assoc tailgate, but for those of us who aren't, I say we get a group together in the tailgate lot to mingle with fellow Gopher fans and have a few beers before heading into the game. We have a group of 8 that will be grabbing a case or two and throwing it in a cheap styrofoam cooler, hopping on the bus, and setting up camp around 6-6:30. Would be there earlier except the heat and lack of any chairs or other tailgating accessories make the pool/bars a bit more tempting than 2+ hrs standing in the desert.

Anyway, looks like they put the visitors on the East side of the tailgate lot, so grab a case or fill a bag with beers, and come out to join in the fun. Let's see if we can get a couple hundred people out there to get the season started off!

Traveling with a group of 6. We are getting in on Thursday morning. Alumni tailgating but that's only from 6-8, so we will start bar tailgating earlier. Anyone else thinking the same thing? If we take the bus it might be easiest to drink at Treasure Island.

Is there a Sota Social planned for Wed night? If so where?

I'm flying in Wed morning and staying through Sat at Excalibur. Does anyone know the best way to get to the stadium? Bus? Cab?
