Led by a freshman from Golden Valley too. Great story.

I'm no fan of Hopkins, but Siyani Chambers was cold-blooded down the stretch of his games in last year's tournament. 22/24 from the line in an Ot win over Woodbury in the quarters, and single-handedly dragged them back into the game vs Osseo when they were down 10 in the third overtime.

First round picks. How did everyone do?

I was:
3-1 on the play-ins
14-2 first round ( lost on New Mexico and Okla St )

Really awful. In both of my brackets I went 10-6.

Bracket one I missed: Colorado St, Okla St, Pitt, New Mexico, UNLV, Bucknell
Bracket two I missed: Colorado St, Pitt, Arizona, New Mexico, UNLV, Bucknell

Good news is that I still have all 16 of my Sweet 16 in bracket one.

Not great:

I was 4-0 first round and then...
11-5 with Missouri, Pitt, New Mexico, UNLV, and Montana. Why Montana, I was hoping bad Syracuse would show up.

My wife did the Diane picks (Cheers Reference) She went with Team colors and places she would like to possibly retire near.
She went 13-3 with New Mexico, UNLV, and Oklahoma State as losses.

I hope I make up ground today.

I'm sure Dpo went 16-0 since he knows more about basketball than most.

That doesn't take much, 19.

Anyway, I got only 12 of 16 and am tied for 30th place with 40 others.

My goals are to stay ahead of Selection Sunday (which I am), and keep Bleedgopher in my sights. (He is).

First round picks. How did everyone do?

The two that I really care about (money is involved):

12-4 (missed on Butler, Harvard, Wichita State, California)

14-2 (missed on Harvard and Wichita State)

All of my sweet 16s are in tact in both brackets.

Fuzzy: "All of my sweet 16s are in tact in both brackets."

A couple of losses in the first round hurts no one, picking correctly into and through the Sweet 16 has enormous value.

Last year I led the GopherHole going into the Sweet 16. At that point, the floor caved in and I took a big, big dive into obscurity.

In my money pools I am 10-6 missing on Mizzou, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, New Mexico, UNLV, and Davidson.

You should know better than to pick against Butler & Wichita State in the opening round.

NC State is looking like crap today. Can't believe I picked that underachieving team to advance. Then again, I picked Minnesota to advance too so I must like inconsistent teams.

Nothing beats watching UW go down!!!!

An early Wisconsin loss and a Gopher win twill be sweet indeed.

My board is looking like Tubby's record.......................never above 500.

NC State underachieved more than the Gophers and that's saying a lot.

La Salle once again looking really impressive. Pounding K-State, up 44-26 at half. Could we have another VCU-esque run on our hands?

My story, too. Between them and Pitt, they're making me look like a buffoon.

That's what you get for saying I had no chance. I thought I went out on a limb by hedging Wisconsin, but you went truly slash and burn with two 8-9 picks that bit you in the behind.

Of course, I still have no chance, but it's nice digging something up once in a while.

I changed my bracket up after watching them shoot lights out from 3 against Boise State. Teams that hit 3's can really shake things up bracket wise.

If anyone ever wondered what happened to Buckwheat of the little rascals, he's the up-and-coming point guard of Indiana.
