1) The ball wouldn't go 10 yards.
2) The ball would go out of bounds.

You could have each guy practice 1,000 onsides a day but ultimately it is up to the kicker on game day.

Yes i think they are coached to kick to the marker. They need to aim for a spot five yards behind their line.
