***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This collapse on the road and our bowl loss tomorrow are too easy to predict. Not sure why I am even going to tune in tomorrow.
Then don't watch tomorrow. You sound like the true fan! Maybe our negative fans and negative media contribute to teams underachieving....

And how much does getting foul after foul called on you frustrate you and change the way you play? In a perfect world we'd play through it and not like it impact us, but truth is the refs had a direct impact in this game. Absolutely pathetic.

Yeah....it's tough when the refs blow the whistle for one team and not the other. They had a bonus 8 minutes into the second half while we only had one foul called in our favor. And I'm not saying that some of those call weren't warranted.......but they were clearly letting one team play physical and calling the slightest touch on us. Completely kills momentum.

Did you watch his minutes?

Eliason is not good is agree, but konate is not nearly ready to cover a guy like Hammonds. He had 2 fouls in less than three minutes

I watch him every time down the floor.

Fired Tubby for making the 2nd round Pitino at best will make 3 NITS his first three years.

Did you really believe, we would be in the NCAA's in 2 years? Take at step back from the ledge. This is a patch work team. and Tubby wasn't going to do anything better here. Hell, he was too pompous to get out and make what we have a Bierman better that Pitino did.

Maybe Jerry can talk to the boys when he gets back from Orlando about mental toughness and winning on the road. Want to know how games against bad teams on the road should end? Look at the Michigan game at The Big House.

Or the game at Illinois ... Wait. (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Gophers were turning Purdue over early and got the lead. Boilermakers stopped giving up the rock.

As outlined HERE, Minnesota's profile isn't great for Big Ten play.. their defense AND offense needs steals and other turnovers.

Purdue offense - despite 5 early turnovers - had the lowest turnover rate of a Gopher opponent this entire season.

Your writing isn't ready for third grade.

I don't know about anyone else, but I honestly would rather see Mason out there at the point than Mathieu. Mason makes less mistakes, and he is taller and plays taller. Mathieu can drive, but he can't finish because everyone is just so much taller. Especially in the B10.

I think you're mistaken. The football team has this thing called mental toughness and knows how to win road games.

The basketball team would do themselves good to learn a thing or two from the football team.

Season ticket holder for 8 years and my dad has had season tickets for 30 years. Not a faux fan at all, sorry not sold on Pitino whatsoever does not mean he cannot change my mind, it is only basketball and one game but think he gets way too much love because of his last name.

Not blaming this loss on the refs. MN mentally broke down on defensive assignments and players struggled to make both free throws given in second half. Also, weren't aggressive enough defensively to continue forcing errors as fouls mounted, some tricky tacky as others have pointed out.

Coaching has to be of some blame too. When Purdue went on runs Rich allowed them to play through instead of calling TO's and stopping the momentum. Our half court offense still continues to be a work in progress as we all too often settle for 3's. Bigs need to be better down low especially EE on the offensive front. His footwork is surprisingly poor for a 4 year player.

R-E-L-A-X! We lost as an underdog on the road in the B1G. Guess what - 17 more Big Ten games left. Season isn't over, as much as some of you here want it to be. A few people on here losing faith in Pitino right now are making me laugh

That scurrying sound is the faux fans and haters coming to rail on the Gophers for losing again at Purdue and blowing an 11 point lead.

And yes, we real fans are frustrated but lets not pretend that river(rat)gopher or any of the rest of you that are now posting how this is the end of the season, hello NIT if we are lucky etc can go crawl back into your hatefull little worlds and let the real fans alone.

+1. Thank You.

I believe we were favored by 2 at game time.

Tough to watch the kids have a size 1 neck to finish the game. Should have had this one. On to Maryland...

What has he shown to have faith in him? Sorry but in my opinion three years in and we will be participating in 3 nits. He can prove me wrong but I do not get all this faith in him.

Mathiue couldn't finish at the rim today, i'll give you that. but if we had to replace a guard, it would be Dre Hollins, not Mason... Mason is more of a 2 than a 1 at this point anyways

I hope I can be talked off the ledge. This has been my passion since 1989. I don't think I can take it anymore. It never changes. It's the same games and the same performances every year. It's ugly and it sucks. If anything ever goes right, we wipe it out like it didn't happen. That second half was awful. You can't lose it. You just can't. I am so sick of watching these performances. I'm done now. Beat Maryland.

Since 1989? You poor thing.

Without Tubbys big men Konate and Dishendo(sP), they are not even close to Big Ten ready. I question his ability to recruit a big. Nwankado(sp) is a marginal recruit I am sorry but I do not see things getting much better next year. Always a chance for a Juco or Graduate but I will not hold my breath.

He's a top 150 rated higher than either mo or we he will be just fine

Wow. Just finished the game. Not holding on to a 13 point second half lead hurts. Not how I envisioned the B1G season starting.

If it's up to the fans and media to make sure the teams don't underachieve, the players and coaches collective focus is way out of whack.

Hes right that we won't be able to run the style Pitino wants to in the big 10, and we didn't even try to this game. This team is 2 recruiting cycles away from fielding a team with enough athletes to play the style we saw in the non con in big 10. Until then, ugly wins and some ugly losses like tonight.

When was the last time we beat a ranked team in a bowl game?
