*** OFFICIAL GOPHERS-PURDUE GAME THREAD ***

Why is mav not in playing point, he has done fine, don't get it. Coleman can handle ball, dre has problems when handling it, we turn the ball over less with Mav at point, and that is not easy to say.

4 fouls

Getting rocked by a 14-16 team. We have to accept this because we cannot recruit or hire a decent coach. So is the fate of a Minnesota sports fan.

To claim your reading comprehension has been fine and then to come back with ^this^ is kinda funny. I've never said nobody would ever want to come here. I said the school has no real appeal to a basketball player other than the fact that the coach has a national title on his resume.

This isn't splitting hairs so much as it is splitting the atom. This is, by all sensible definitions, the exact same *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ing thing as what I said you said.

But you are more right than you know - players will come for the coach. And we have the wrong coach Once we do, our campus will start looking a lot more attractive, and people will start talking about how awesome a place the U is to go to play basketball. There's a talismanic effect to it. Same place, but it'll become a selling point. We need to pay for a coach, not a name.

Can we stop bitching and moaning about Tubby? You keep repeating the same thing over and over again you want him gone we get it. Unless you're the A.D you can't do anything about it just support the team it's not difficult!

Purdue jumps us with a win. We play them again on Thursday if we lose today.

Lose that and we are probably in the play in game.

Pretty sure that once Ohio State beats Illinois, Purdue moves up to the 7 and Minnesota gets the Illini instead.

hope you meant can't

Question for selection Sunday: What's the Highest RPI team to NOT get in the big dance? I think it was 8 or 10 years ago....I think it was a team who had an RPI of 31 or so....I can't recall...I think the Gophers have a chance to beat that mark.

For the record, I have a bet going with a friend that the school negotiates a "retirement"' with Tubby. After how this year has ended, I can't imagine why the AD would want to deal with the angry fanbase and I can't imagine why Tubby would want to come back and get boo'd at home all the time. If he stays, it's all because it's a last-ditch effort to get something out of the big 3 in the 2014 class.

What's with these refs not calling anything and then go to call everything?

The refs haven't helped matters at all this game. What's in it for them that they're favoring Purdue today? Not on national TV so they can get away with the blatant homerism?

did not think Trevor would be the one to not show up

He's legitimately lazy, it's the only explanation for anything with him.

Not sure it's that. But at Kentucky, you can give them the 'Tubby stare' and you'll get calls. That doesn't work at MN. He's never bothered to adjust.

The team is making it more and more difficult every week. I hope to heck they come out with a strong performance in the BTT and the NCAA's.

Do these guys look like Duke should have recruited them? Bostick really doesn't back up your statement. Talk about a guy who had no impact. Think that may be the reason Wis schools didn't want him?

So you're comparing our recruits to one of the best programs in the country? You talk about guys like Williams and Walker not being highly recruited. Funny that Rodney had an offer from the program you're salivating about, Wisconsin. Mo Walker had offers from Pittsburgh and UConn, two pretty good programs. Unless of course you have some inside knowledge that these offers are not true. If you do, I'd love to hear it.

I'll give you the Bostick one.

Mbakwe's hands are troubling...he fumbles more balls outta bounds than anybody I can remember.

But it really isn't. *Some* 3 and 4 star recruits will come here as a backup option simply because they don't get starting opportunities at other big conference programs. The problem is, at that point, you're settling for what you can get instead of recruiting players that fit a system.

People who think Tubby's recruiting has been bad should ask themselves how we would have done between 2007-2011 without him.

TV Teddy always does work. The network matters not.

I can't imagine we would have won any fewer NCAA tournament games during that stretch.

So I guess when Andre Hollins guaranteed a winning big ten season he was lying out his ass?

I'll give you the Bostick one.

So the obvious conclusion is that Tubby is not a very good teacher.
Jim Jackson just said as much on TV.
