Official 2015 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

Assuming this is an official? He's visited numerous times already.

I don't think football recruits can take officials yet like basketball recruits can. Not until their senior year classes start. I wouldn't be surprised if Schmidt pulled the trigger when he makes this next visit.

That would be great. Nebraska fans seem to think he's theirs to lose (even though they haven't offered yet).

Just spoke with Iowa Western (JUCO) safety Charlie Rogers. Offers from Illinois and Miami of Ohio. Minnesota could be next.

I think we had recruited this kid back when he was coming out of high school.

Yep. Gophers offered him out of high school, but he went to Iowa State. Played there as a redshirt freshman in 2013 and transferred to Iowa Western after the season. Doubt he was an academic casualty because he was 2nd Team Big 12 All-Academic.

Could someone post an updated ranking of our in-state football players for 2015? I'm sure it's in here somewhere and I have missed it. How many with B1G potential? Any not looking/leaning at the Gophers? Sorry, spring break has made the Gopher FB news a little slow.

We gotta get a guy with a name like "Kez Flomo" on board.

There is Flomo and Momoh. Surely you can't be serious. Harry Momoh...hmm.

Wow, Drayton Carlberg is rated the #26 DT in the country on rivals. On ESPN's grading scale for the past 2 years the #26 DT has been a 4 star and has a higher grade then guys like Ragnow, Holland, Mcdonald etc. and in 2013 the #26 DT was in the top 300.

Wasn't Cornell rated #1 by ESPN? Kind of surprising that one service's #1 could be only a four star in another service. Is that common? I'm assuming each service has two dozen players rated five stars.

He still is #1 after they updated the rankings

Gophers not in Cornell's Top 9

Can we just consider Cretin as an out of state school for recruiting purposes from now on?

dont let the door hit you on the way out... in a way i hope he stays in the big ten so we can kick his ass every year... a lot of the kids in this state are a bunch of sellouts

But Ryan Burns and all of the other recruiting guys on twitter have said there is no chance (or less than 1% according to Burns) that he plays for us.

You'd think with Shede probably going in the first round and the development of Cochran that we'd at least be in the mix. CDH just hates the Gophers I guess.

or that they just view it that when a guy is top 10 in the nation and has established programs knocking on his door it's just not very likely. playing the odds is always much easier for the recruitniks.

Didn't even give us the Tyus Jones courtesy inclusion.
Well, I still like the guys Kill is getting and we will win with or without Cretin guys

Wow. I totally thought the FB board would be freaking out and calling him names for not having the Gophers on his list. He didn't even have the Tyus Jones courtesy inclusion either...that's a bummer. You guys are taking it much better it seems than what the BB Board would if this was a big time basketball recruit.

The football posters, on average, are leagues more realistic than the basketball posters, both about recruiting and the on-field/court performance of the teams.

If we do get a courtesy inclusion, people complain about "he strung us along." There's no good way to be spurned.

While I don't necessarily disagree DP, could the timing have any effect? If Tyus/Reid/Rashad and any other future big recruit cut the Gophs off this early in the process I think the response would be much different than what we saw with Reid. I thought the Tyus and Vaughn responses were right on par with what you would expect all things considering.

Not to mention the fact that one recruit can make or break a team much more quickly than in football. Cornell's absence would be felt much less than not getting one of the big 3.

The Tyus decision barely even caused a discussion on the basketball board. Same with Rashad. I love how football fans think they are better than basketball fans. How about supporting your damn University and not picking fights with your own fan base?

I was thinking that if he were to commit right now we wouldn't be legitimately in the mix but after we win 9-10 games next year we definitely would be. Too bad he is deciding before the season starts. Hopefully he doesn't go to Notre Dame.

we should remove this thread i dont care where he goes now... if a kid doesnt want to play for us we don't need to pay him any attention
