Go Gophers!!

He had a top 10 list before the gophers offered, then tweeted that he no longer has a top 10 list and is listening to any school that calls, guess he was hurt last season, but his stock has been rising lately. Also tweeted he will decide what school after spring football

Just watching the tape, size doesn't appear to be an issue. Looks, imo, a little slow in lateral movement, but appears to be a solid tackler and would be a run support type of guy

Go Gophers!!

Month old news but i never saw anybody else post it. Landon and Levi Paulsen, the 2 big high 3 star/low 4 star OGs both committed to Iowa last month.

According to a Nebraska forum Grant Smichdt's HS athletic director worked with Kill at SIU and they keep in good contact. 93% to Minnesota on 247 CB. Really glad Nebraska and Iowa aren't showing a ton of interest.

Also looking more into it i don't think we will get Gabe Megginson.

QB Ryan Boyle committed to Iowa too. He was up here for Junior Day.

Not too disappointing considering we never offered even after seeing him in person. The QB position is an interesting case for this class. Nelson, Leidner, Streveler, and McKinzy all committed pretty early and it seems like we're being much more patient this class in grabbing a QB.

He looks like he's going to be a beast.

He's ridiculously built. One of the 247 guys said he runs a legit electronic-timed forty in the high 4.5's as well. That's impressive for a guy that size. He's starting to hear from the big schools, USC, Miami, and Ohio State. Hopefully we make a great impression this weekend.

Is Julien (sp) Kafo also coming to the Spring Game?

What time is the game today?

I have been a bit remiss in posting updates on top Minnesota Preps for the Class of 2015 over the past year due to work and relocation. Since I had a bit of a break, I figured I would take a look at the current junior class and share the update with others interested in Minnesota recruiting.

Cornell leads the class by long shot as top recruit in the state. DeLaSalle OL/DL Drayton Carlberg (6'5 280) has four BCS offers now. Prior Hart LB Alex Hart (6'3 215) picked up his third FCS offer from NDSU recently, will be at the Gopher Spring Game today, and heading to Michigan State spring game next week. Park Center DB Adam Buirge (6'0 180) has two FCS offers - SDSU and North Dakota. Our only other junior with a D1 offer is Lakeville South LB Josh Corcoran (6'3 230).

I know Red Wing DE Nick Connelly (6'6 265) is picking up BCS interes as well as Roseville WR Jesper Horstad (6'4 200), Stewartville Dillon Holton (6'5 285), and a handful of other players.

In updating the Class of 2015 list from post season stats and honors, there area number of good size players in the state with D1 potential. It will be interesting to how the grow and train in preparation for the 2014 football season. As always, if I am missing anyone, please feel free to post or let me know.

I really hope he chooses the gophers. I went to High School there (Lincoln) so it would be pretty sweet to see a guy from Sioux Falls play for the gophers!

There were a handful of unofficial visitors on the Gophers sideline by the east goal post. Does anyone know which kids are visiting today?

A lot of them were freshmen not on campus yet. Mayes, Elmore, Richardson, Holland Jr., and more. Two 2015 unofficial visitors were Femi-Cole and Kelly. I'm not sure if any other 2015 recruits were there. Some local kids probably were.

Caleb Potter, a beast JUCO linebacker , has interest in Minnesota and is cutting down his list in a week. He'll make his decision pretty soon as well.

Per Ryan Burns, Potter doesn't actually have a Gopher offer despite his recent tweet stating the contrary.

I know a lot of you guys don't give Bleacher report any credibility at all but one of their writers believes that James Morgan from Green Bay who is a top 150 recruit on 247 and espn and the #7 QB in 2015 according to him believes that Minnesota would be the best fit for Morgan.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...he-top-10-uncommitted-2015-qb-recruits/page/5

Despite a current lack of offers, Morgan is likely to land in the Big Ten. Michigan State and Wisconsin are strong possibilities, although each squad has several other passers in mind.

The Gophers have given him significant attention lately, and he attended a spring practice earlier this month. Morgan feels Minnesota's scheme offers a quality opportunity for his skill set to shine.

"I think the offense that they run fits my strengths, a pro-style where the QB is responsible for reads at the line and can run if need be," he told Rivals.com reporter Lucas Trickle. "I like their system."

I like this kid. His highlights are more impressive than Nelson, Leidner, Streveler, and McKinzy IMO. Looks to be a better passer than any of those guys and still athletic enough for our offense.

We need a cerebral QB who possess a strong arm and is an accurate passer with quick reads & releases in the next recruiting class. Whether he can run well is secondary.

We have to be lucky on this.

Video from Chicago Nike Football Camp. Includes some kids with Gopher interest.
