J'vonte Herrod, a 3-star running back (according to 247 sports) (or 2-star according to Rivals) out of Georgia is visiting Minnesota on Nov. 8th. We seem to overall have better recruits coming in this year than in the past couple of years. Slowly building...brick by brick. Not sure how many RBs Kill wants but it seems like a lot in a small class.

It'll be interesting to see how the running back situation works out in this year's class. We have one soft commit and 4 others have or will take official visits.

I think he's building in a lot of contingencies in case Jones decommits or can't qualify. As has been mentioned frequently, recruiting a lot of RBs and athletic QBs makes sense because they almost always have a lot of position versatility, and worse case can be great special teams contributors.

Can you elaborate? Maybe it's buried in the Jones thread, but this is the first I've heard of academic issues.

was talked of as an issue earlier in his career. has a tutor now and it shouldn't be an issue

He plays both ways. He's a damn good high school defensive end. I don't think it's 100% certain he'll be a TE at Minnesota.

Yeah, it's a pretty small school - a lot of kids play both ways (in Western WI)

Claeys says that the win over Nebraska helps more with 2015 recruiting than it will 2014:

“The hard thing about it is so many [high school seniors] have already made up their minds,” Claeys said. “So it actually helps you with the following year probably more than it will this year.”

Saw a couple highlights from the game he caught a nice over the should ball for the receiving TD. He would be a huge get as an all-purpose, every down back.
