One player that has confirmed Sawvel is visiting him is DeMarcus Bingham, a WR from Foley (AL).

I spoke with one of Jeff Jones first cousins yesterday and I asked if Jeff is going to stay in MN being he is only a soft verbal, and he said yeah he will be a gopher because he cnt leave his Grandma. But he then stated if he did leave he would go to believe it or not michigan state.

Not sure Michigan State would be such a big surprise; it's not like Dantonio is spittin' the bit in East Lansing. Big Ten conference wins over the last 5+ seasons (2008-current):

1. Ohio State (34)
2. Penn State (29)
T-3. Michigan State (28)
T-3. *Wisconsin (28)
5. Iowa (22)
6. Northwestern (21)
7. Michigan (19)
8. Purdue (15)
9. Minnesota (12)
10. Illinois (11)
11. Indiana (6)

Nebraska has won 13 conference games since joining the Big Ten in 2011.

* includes 2 Big Ten championship game wins

per Shooter:

The Gophers football team is showing interest in No. 1-ranked Eden Prairie running back Anthony Anderson, as is Iowa.

Anderson played football from third through eighth grade with Minneapolis Washburn running back Jeff Jones, who has committed to Minnesota. The two are good friends and want to play together in college. A scholarship offer to Anderson wouldn't be surprising.

just was moseying through recruiting rankings on rivals, and despite being last in terms of recruiting, in average star rating, we fare significantly better at a 2.88, which is good for 8th in conference instead of 12th. just some food for thought

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but WR Rashad Canty, Riverdale (suburban Atlanta) is visiting on Oct 26th.

He's currently an Appalachian State commit and holds low-level FBS offers (the usual suspects of UAB and Southern Miss).

He doesn't have a Gopher offer yet, but one would imagine if he's visiting from Georgia it's in the pipeline and that he would be likely to commit.

Ragnow:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Received an offer from The Ohio State University <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23buckeyes&src=hash">#buckeyes</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23blessed&src=hash">#blessed</a></p>— Frank Ragnow (@KNARFWONGAR) <a href="https://twitter.com/KNARFWONGAR/statuses/389727206441627648">October 14, 2013</a></blockquote>

Gonna be extremely difficult to get Ragnow. Apparently he has a great relationship with Kill and Limegrover but that probably won't be enough considering he has offers from Ohio St., Florida St., Miami, Arkansas, and Wisconsin.

Big STrib profile on Jones: Washburn football star is tough to pin down

Solid performances at national camps during the spring and summer heightened Jones’ profile. Currently the only four-star prospect in the Gophers’ 2014 recruiting class, Jones now lists Minnesota, Iowa State, Michigan State, Missouri and others, including Illinois and Oklahoma, among his preferred schools.

“Really, I don’t have a ranking, but I can tell you that I’m going to take an official [visit] to Minnesota,” said the 6-1, 200-pound Jones, who has made unofficial visits to Minnesota and Iowa State and has worked out for Michigan State. “Every school that I take an official to has a possibility.”

Gophers fans must wait and watch to find out whether Minnesota maroon and gold run through Jones’s veins. The rush that came with making an early verbal commitment has given way to a larger view of what the college football world has to offer.

“I see some things in other schools that I also see in Minnesota that could also be a great chance for me,” Jones said.

According to 247 sports WDE Demetrius Hill is visiting November 8th. He's a 3-star recruit out of Kansas.

According to 247 sports ILB, 4-star recruit Christian Russell from Fort Scott Community College is visiting Nov. 23rd. Seems recruiting picked up considerably during the week off.

Jack Lynn went from the future at ILB, to not playing at all, to potentially being usurpsed by a JUCO.

That said, Damien Wilson will be here for another year, so unless Mr. Russell is a SO JUCO or he can play WILL, I'm not sure why he'd come here to sit for a year.

Seemingly both.
Checked on Russell. Former RB/LB UNC commit, (w/alabama offer among others) ran into academic trouble, put into prep school by UNC, mom died in car accident while in prep school and failed to qualify again. Prep school coach got him into eastern mississippi CC where he must have redshirted since he has only 1 year of stats.
Solid prospect IMO, Lynn appears to need beef.
