OFFICIAL 2014 National Signing Day Thread - LOI Updates, Tweets, Links and More

One thing I like about James's highlights was his kick return ability. He could play next year as a return specialist and special teamer.

If we dont need him as a CB I say RS him.... (I dont know if we need him as a CB or not) With how thin this class is we are going to need as many seasoned vets in 4 years as possible.

james runs a 4.39 40? is this real? wow!

Gentry? Burns tweeted over an hour ago that he told him he had sent his LOI in. Cause for concern?

Wondering about this as well. The NLI has to go through compliance before it can be announced, I'm thinking Gentry did something wrong on his and had to do it again. I'm not too concerned.

I noticed the official cite at the U had only 3 more blanks left. They just added another. (15 LOI's listed)

I wouldn't worry about that, they added all the pwo at once, once a fan asked if they would be annoucing pwo's too, and I don't think they wanted those players to be left out. I'm sure they will add slots as signees come in

We're 4 deep at least at CB with BBC, Wells, Murray & Myrick, I'd LOVE to red-shirt James.

Jonathan Celestin signs his LOI! The LB chose #Gophers over Western Kentucky, Temple and Jacksonville State

Isaiah Gentry signs his LOI! The WR chose #Gophers over offers from #Rutgers, Kent State and Akron

We have three in-state OL's that have signed with BCS schools outside the State.

Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon State. Had we not landed Mayes I would see major red flags in this.

Craig James...YES!

Great news. You can never know with these kids. I was optimistic when he shut down his recruiting, but was curious as to why he didn't commit then. I think he's a key addition. Claeys' defensive scheme relies on solid cover corners and this kid appears to have what it takes to be one of those.

@1500ESPN_Reusse: More drama as to whether Jeff Jones will be eligible than fact he's going to commit to Gophers. "He's a long way off,'' U official told me.

So we are down to waiting for Jones and Moore and PWOs RB Leach and OLB Blake Weber right? No surprises so far with James pretty much predicted to sign with us and Gibson staying on board…but also no negative surprises yet either. The Gophers do a great job eliminating signing day negatives.

Considering we didn't offer Robert Olson I don't think he counts as a miss. Hassenauer to Alabama is definitely excusable. Ragnow was the weird one, a lot of Gopher fans thought his decision was strange including me. Kill and his staff did everything they could to keep him in-state.

Leach won't be signing today. He still has to finalize his application.
