Blurg
Thank you. That explains it. I'm slightly hopeful.
define adequate and decent. My guess is half hour a day and the occasional C+My understanding is that Jeff Jones grade problem is almost entirely due too his sophomore year. He's since developed adequate study habits, gets decent grades, but has yet to get out of the hole he dug.
I can only go by what his Coach said and the fact that the Gopher staff have stuck by him.
Those are what matter. Not the gossip of GH'ers.
Glad I didn't allow myself to get too excited about this kid. I knew it would be unlikely when all of his other offers suddenly disappeared as we approached signing day.
Where do I find out where his summer school teacher lives? So we can have a healthy discussion?
What matters are the facts that Joe C, Doogie, Shama and Marcus have given us which is where most of us have gotten our ideas from. We aren't just making this stuff up.
But they start the gossip, and our GH'ers just continue to spread it, on and on and on.
They present the facts. When do they gossip?
Do you believe everything they tweet or say is a "fact"? Really?
Maybe I am naive, but the fact that he is still taking summer courses means that there is still a possibility. I mean why would he do it otherwise? I am still holding onto hope.

Go Gophers!!
He enrolled in SS before he took the last ACT. It is possible he is in SS in case be raised his ACT 1, but not 2 points, but then didn't raise it at all leaving him no chance or a very slim one. I'm not suggesting that is the case, but it would explain a scenario where he is in SS without a chance to still get in.
Like you, however, I am still holding onto hope - for our team and for what is best for JJ in life. If those are the same thing then great. If not then I wish him the best of luck with his future.
One way or another I can't wait until this is official. Will be nice to stop reading all the he need .1 or is .001 or maybe he needs to get an A in this class plus a C+ in this one or he could get a B in this class and maybe squeak by with a D...of course that all assumes he got the score he needed on the ACT....according to his best friends, girlfriends, former boyfriends, half sister who was in biology with him this summer he knocked his course work out of the part and should be suiting up for the Gophers this fall.
Sorry, it has been a long day.
empathy for the lazy?I don't mind the stupid speculation of what he needs/doesn't need that's par for the course here at GH, we speculate. What I hate is the ignorant statements about how dumb/lazy he must be because it's so easy to do this or that. Or how easy it is to get a highschool education/cupcake major in college...
The lack of empathy is astounding, I might be just as ignorant for being surprised by some of the statements made.
empathy for the lazy?
Apparently the 247 guys just finished talking to someone very familiar with the situation and are saying its an all but guarantee that Jeff will be at Iowa Western for 2 years.
I suppose you never did anything stupid as a sophomore in high school. I did! I also didn't have great grades in high school. I did a stint in the Army, got accepted into CLA, got the grades to be accepted into Carlson, as a junior, and graduated from Carlson. So far in JJ, I see a kid that's was young and immature working very hard to get out of the hole he dug for himself, so yes, I have a lot of empathy for him.empathy for the lazy?
apparently it's too little too late. I don't accept that every kid needs to make the same mistakes.I suppose you never did anything stupid as a sophomore in high school. I did!
