Official 2015 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

The Nagel kid knows what he is doing running routes, nobody can cover him one on one. Horsted looks like he has athletic ability, but he needs to learn how to get himself some room out there, he is making it easy for guys to cover him.

I like this kid. His highlights are more impressive than Nelson, Leidner, Streveler, and McKinzy IMO. Looks to be a better passer than any of those guys and still athletic enough for our offense.

I agree - I think he looks really good.

For me, the most impressive aspect of the highlight tape is that his offensive line appears to be somewhat overmatched by opponents. Let me explain.

Because of this, most of his throws are within a very short timeframe of the snap - he doesn't have the luxury to just sit back there and snipe wide open receivers. He is under pressure a lot and makes good throws under duress. I feel like a lot of very successful HS QBs don't translate to the college level b/c they are so used to just sitting back, things being easy, and they are never under stress or pressure situations - and this doesn't happen much at the college level. You also rarely see wide-open guys - he makes a lot of tight throws accurately.

100% behind this kid.

I missed Cornell's Top 10 yesterday. Can anyone help me? Didn't see it in "his" thread either and didn't want to bump that one. It says Notre Dame favorite in there. No bump from here.

FWIW, there's a quote on the 247 site from a player from Wisconsin (Alec Ingold) that Coach Z has been recruiting and he said Coach Z told him they aren't planning on taking a QB this class.

http://247sports.com/Player/Alec-Ingold-57867

Why would we not take a QB when we have a good size class to fill, QB is a question mark, and they have had 2 QB's transfer in the last 2 years, not to mention it's the most important position?...unless they feel that good about landing Seth Green next year...

I believe Coach Kill and the staff feel much better about our QB situation than many fans do. Not just the scholarship kids either.

I feel a lot better knowing that too. I have a lot more faith in the coaches than I do our experts here at the GopherHole.

I like how Coach Kill has looked and hooked local MN QB's. He and his staff have done a nice job of offering PWO'S to some of the top local talent and getting them to come to the U. CDH's Conor Rhoda and Perra from Roseville have both have added depth and competition at the QB spot. It will be interesting to see if either of these players receive scholarships in the future?

I hereby predict Perra will be on scholie

Agree on Perra and wouldn't be surprised by Rhoda. I think we are 5 deep.

Let's shut the board down now. How dare any of us mere mortals ask questions re: any aspect of the football program. Just acknowledge JK and staff for the gods they are, sit back, and enjoy the ride to Pasadena for the next 5 years. Don't even think of questioning things as trivial as adding 1 QB per recruiting cycle, since most teams do it and this staff said they planned to do it.

I've always been of the mindset that you have a QB in every class. Maybe doubling up with Perra as a walk-on in 2014 serves the same purpose.

the head coach and staff are shtn their pants over the qb situation.

So just because a recruit said it, we all believe it to be true?

According to 247 we have a grand total of 1 offer out to a 2015 QB, who is a Texas Tech commit. So yeah, I actually do believe it. They could always change their minds if the right player pops up though.

What about the kid from Green Bay? He looked like a good player and I thought we had been recruiting him. I just can't see us passing on a 4* who looks like a good fit for our system, even if we don't necessarily need a QB.
