We have offered John Kelly at RB and that is his preferred position. Michigan St., the assumed favorite, offered him at safety. The MSU 247 guy thinks Kelly ends up picking the Gophers because of this.

We are just carpet-bombing the nation with OL offers. As I stated months ago, I see very little chance that Schmidt comes here, despite the prevailing consensus that he will.

What exactly makes you say this? According to everyone else (including Schmidt himself) we are his leader.

Right now, the recruits I'm most intrigued by are:

1) Schmidt
2) The OLineman from DeLaSalle
3) Kelly
4) The RB from Canada
5) the QB from Green Bay

If Kill can bring in most or all of this group, it's going to be a very exciting class.

On Schmidt's 247 profile it say we are "warmer" while Iowa State and Ohio State are warm. I would be very surprised if he doesn't commit to here, Iowa or Nebrska.

I'd also add WR Nagel Flynn from Illinois. Consensus top 50 WR and took a visit during the spring game.

Coach Kill has stated the program will sign 3-4 Offensive Linemen for 2015. Carlberg plays O-line and judging by his offers, projects well to the next level. He goes to school 5 minutes away from the 'U.' This guy is priority and if I were a betting man, he is at the top of their list.

Compared to other states, MN produces few D-I players every year. Need to get the ones you can. He is one of them. So yes, the Gophers want him badly, probably more than others.

Of all the MN kids we are targeting i do feel that if all of them had the MSU, OSU, Wiscy offers we would have the best chance with Carlberg.
