Brewster's last season

Hopefully Gjere will still sign when Brewster is fired after the season.
 



The last 20 minutes have looked a lot like the end of last year....which was, ahem, bad....

It seems like any time any adversity hits at all, our guys just lay down and say "oh well, we tried. Better luck next time."

No fire from anybody at all.
 

A loss here (esp as bad as things are going right now) will send us into a tailspin......This game may well cook Brewster....sad thing is that it was preventable with ANY adjustments, recognition, something....do something for God's sake.
 


Syracuse finished 101 in total defense last year? Oh man, either were really bad or they've been in touch with A-Rods steroid supplier over the offseason.
 

They are doing the same thing every play...short pass chunk of yards defense looks pathetic. How about we get up on the receivers and tackle?

Play calling sucks. Weber has 1 picked, should've been 2. Decker is non-existent. Running game is non-existent. Defense can't rush, can't tackle, isn't going for turnovers. Coaches are making no adjustments.

0-3 seems expected. Hard to turn this ship around against top 25 teams. This is embarrassing, even to our standard.
 

Don't forget...we're "bigger, stronger and faster" this year.

Weber looks terrible and Decker is thinking about his Pro baseball career it appears- Dropping easy passes!

I agree... although this team is better than the 2007 version, a loss here could erase any confidence they had, much like the 2007 loss to Bowling Green
 



This is horrible, I might stop watching before the end of the 3rd Quarter the way we're playing right now.......

They'll talk about the Gophers as soon as they do something worthwhile. Early on they were lauding Weber and talking about Decker as a potential first round pick.

Then they've proceeded to shit the bed for the rest of the half. That doesn't give them much of a chance to heap praise on them.
 


This is terrible. Why aren't we actually using more than 5 plays from the playbook. And missed tackle after missed tackle. Plus terrible routes and no recognition of play calling. Just awful! Disgusted!
 

Hope Maturi has Dungy on speed-dial. Absolutely pathetic performance after the first 5 minutes of the first quarter. 2 TD's in the first 5 minutes then nothing at all over the final 25 minutes of the first half. The offense has been even more predictable than it was when Dunbar was here. Though the WR's have played their part in making Weber look bad by dropping balls, his throws have been about as good as that of a middle school QB. Time to get Gray out there and see what he can do. Defense has been bad but you have to take into account how long they've been out there. Stop a drive and force a punt, quick 3-and-out from O, back out playing D again.

Why, dear GOD, why must this team suck each and every year??

Syracuse was horrendous last year and they appear to have improve. Why can't Minnesota do the same?

They better show up in the second half, cause 20 unanswered points is unacceptable.
 

The Syracuse WR and RB look solid. What is very concerning is the gophs are not able to dominate Syracuse in the trenches. If we can't get good line play against SU we are in for a long long season.
 

So we've played 30 minutes out of a total of 720 this season and according to Gopherhole, we need a new head coach, a new defensive coordinator, a new offensive coordinator, a new D-Line and new quarterback.

I think Iowa should fire Ferentz. 10-3 UNI at the half.

Gophs will win this game by 10+. These are all of the same posts from the season opener the past 2 years and one good quarter of play and you all have your knee pads for Brewster back on.
 

Hey its the first half, lets watch the second before we start throwing people under the bus... but if this continues I have to agree, im pretty disgusted at this point.

Go Gophers.
 

Brewster, in 2-plus years, has made 1 in-game adjustment...last year in Madison...time to earn that $1 million check...still a very winnable game.

TITCR. Fire Brewster now and then Maturi. This is not a major college program. It is run by sissies who believed an idiot lifelong TE coach can be a headcoach without ever calling a play in 20+ years of coaching.
 

This looks just like last year's team. They play well the first 5 minutes and then the wheels fall off. Webber is still holding the ball too long and has been erratic. The defense filled with seniors is being dominated and looks slow.

We'll need some major half time adjustments to pull this one out. I don't want to see another swing pass.
 

Im not ready to write off the Gophers...yet. This is obviously a winnable game.
 

This is sad.

Syracuse is dominating us.

Iowa is losing to Northern Iowa.

Navy, except for one turnover, is playing even with OSU.

Expect more love for the Big Ten from ESPN.

Good point. Although, it seemed as though every time Paulus took a snap, they had a picture of him back in his glory days in high school. A little excessive imo, but like you said, you get talked about when you do something worthwhile.

The guys are doing a lot of standing around like their expecting someone else to do the job. On offense, I'm not sure what we're trying to do, and neither do the players it seems. Defensively, we've got to start blitzing. Paulus and his noodle arm have thrown it down field exactly three times in the entire half and the only one that was even decent was the completion on a touchdown anyone posting on this forum could have caught. After that, everything else was bubble screens and wildcat formations, running the same play to different sides. Yet, we're acting like we've never seen it before. All and all, pretty disgusting.

This is the type of stupid, know-nothing thinking that has run this program into the ground. Ferentz has two Big Ten titles and crushed us 55-0 at home last year. Nice comparison.
