Week 8 Other Games Thread

I’ll be pulling for all of them, especially NU and little brother

First, good for Maryland. Will make beating them next weekend just that much sweeter.

Second, I've changed my mind on our conference expansion with our new teams from the West Coast. I like watching them get beat.

Oh, the Football Gods chime in too...

Mich isn’t good are they?. Feels like another loss not having that moral victory.

Riley is making 10 million a year. It is a good gig if you can get it.
USC was 7-5 when they had Caleb Williams last year in a worse conference.

Now they have a brutal schedule (Big Ten + LSU + Notre Dame) and can't beat the Gophers or Terps. There's a fair chance they miss a bowl game, but 6-6 is more likely.

Yeah, I just looked at their schedule and they need to win 3 of Rutgers, Wash, UCLA, Nebraska, ND. I’m guessing they’ll do that, but probably JUST will. Really is crazy how tight the middle of the B1G is this year. Mich, USC, MN, Maryland, Rutgers, Wash, MSU…on and on. Any given Saturday (or Fri). Gonna have a LOT of 6 and 7 win teams when it all shakes out.

Why would you want an opponent to stop trying?

College football is now a professional sport, it's a disservice to his players to hold back.

All the guy does is win🤷
As Jimmy Johnson said when he was at Miami about “running up the score”, my offense’s job is to move the 🏈 and score. If your defense can’t stop my offense, that’s not my problem, is it?

The Iowa and Texas quarterbacks are both playing like dog shit.

So far, it appears Texas is not back
If Texas loses which looks likely, their best wins are over what will be unranked Michigan and unranked Oklahoma. How far should the #1 team in the nation fall in the rankings? I know they are SEC so not enough. I'd say for sure outside the top 10. Illinois just beat Michigan by a similar amount so both should be ranked in the teens, right?

Oklahoma may regret moving to the SEC just like some in Nebraska regret moving to the B1G. As someone else already said, Oklahoma doesn't have dominant local recruiting. Just think if they were both still in the Big 12? Their huge fans bases and NIL would have more of an impact in that league and they'd regularly compete for conference championships. Welcome to being just an average P4 team.

I agree with what another poster said about Indiana having to run it up because they aren't getting respect nationally. They should be the 4th B1G team ranked in the AP top 10 next week.

Kaden Johnson finally breaks loose … 75 yard TD. Iowa clawing its way back in.

Kirby Smart still thinks that was PI. In the end they got it right.

Boo yah. And MSU probably puts the game away with a TD.

I haven’t watched much of the games tonight, how does MSU have 32 points on Iowa? Didn’t see that happening.

MSU didn't punt once. MSU has some young, dynamic talent on offense. The qb is 19 years olds.

They ran and threw it at will.

The score should have been much worse as the MSU kicker set a record for them with 7 field goals.
