Spring Practice Observations

The team posted a picture on social media showing the practice yesterday at TCF, I noticed the temporary seats have been removed. There had been some conversation on here about whether they would remove the seats, it looks like they will be gone. View attachment 4136

Wow. There will be nothing stopping or even partially blocking the cold wind blowing full force right to my seats. I may have to stop wearing shorts to the games in Oct. rather than Nov. now.

Yeah - take out the seats. Let's not even try to sell them. Shoot, the U doesn't need any more revenue........

That is a defeatist approach. I hope the team has a more positive attitude than the sales and marketing program.

Well its not just "we can't sell them all, oh well, take them out" its more of a "which is more likely to give us more revenue, those seats or having more food and activities there" If history says the latter, you can't blame them. Also, were those temporary seat rented? Bought by the Vikings? or did the U own them? If it was one of the first two it is possible the U didn't have a choice in the matter.

So I did the 2 Game Package last year. A representative called me a few weeks back to see if I wanted to do that again and what not. I asked him if the those "temporary" seats were going to be back as those are the ones I have sat in for the past 2 years, and he said they will not be back this year. I don't understand the reasoning behind that. Maybe our AD can explain it. Oh wait....

Really! Can't understand? They were obviously only their for the Vikings and are a complete eyesore. Why would anyone want those there? Unless the stadium sold out and it was the only way to get a ticket, which is not the case

9 posts in and you're already a 30 watt bulb.

Why the hell would anyone want to keep TEMPORARY seats?
Anyway brin back the grove and beer garden atmosphere there, i liked that way better.

Thank god they are gone. Too bad we lost several years growth on the trees. Several schools are trying to add similar areas to exiting stadiums. TCF has an integrated plaza area to grab a brew and watch some ball. Our beautiful stadium will be whole again.

I could really care less if the seats are there or not, but eyesore? You only see the blue when the stadium is empty.

Can we start a separate "let's reflect on temporary seats, that are already gone" thread? Then we can get back to spring practice observations.

I'd actually prefer a full other forum for anyone who for whatever reason would actually have preferred we keep them up. Those are people I can't trust.

One thing is for sure, we have a physically impressive group of QBs. Unfortunately this isn't a beauty pageant.

I like Johnson's style. Seems like a good teacher.

Me thinks they were saved from the metro dome basketball seating.. that's why seats were blue.

Fahning was playing almost exclusively with the 1s at LT last Saturday. Not sure if that will stick, but he appears to me in the mix for significant playing time this year.

i'm already pissed about it. i can't believe we threw when we should have ran it up the middle.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. RUTM is much safer than the bounce pass.

I like this guy so far.

I do too! Just the fact that the QB coach is the OC makes a big difference. He knows when the receivers will be open and you could see him getting on the one QB telling him that he should have made the decision and let it fly much earlier. It is the little thinks like he says. He has them practicing to get a good leveraged throw even if they can't step up into it. Much better than flinging it off the back foot.

Good deal. He was PWO if my memory serves me and seemed like a good athlete that just needed to get bigger.

Yeah, he was an impressive HS football player. I was surprised when we were able to get him to take accept a PWO. I am sure others who saw him play in HS can chime in too, Fahning was an impressive HS football player who just needed to fill out. I'm not surprised at all to see him starting for us.

Garrison Wright will start at LT.

Garrison Wright will start at LT.

Yeah I have to agree.

Edit: We'll know more as practices progress but I thought I saw him at LT with the 1st team when i was at practice. I'll admit I didn't watch the line that closely, I was watching what they were doing with the RBs, WRs, and TEs more, but I swear I saw him in there with the 1s.

Is practice on Saturday still at 11am?
