It is.

Capel was head coach at VCU immediately before Grant. Capel took VCU to NCAA and NIT, eventually took job at Oklahoma. Grant was hired by Teague. Grant took VCU to NCAA, took job at Alabama. Shaka was hired by Teague. Shaka took VCU to Final Four and is still at VCU.

Capel's old man was coach at Old Dominion at one time.
 

I wish people would stop entertaining the idea that Buzz Williams would actually consider leaving Marquette for here. I've laid this out a million times, but I'll do it one more... He has all of the important pieces to his current team coming back next year and is adding a top 5-10 class. They will be be favorites to win the new Big East and go very deep into the tourney. In addition to the good class coming in (which includes Duane Wilson in the video) he also has a very good shot at local 5-stars Kevon Looney (2014) and Diamond Stone (2015, Wilson's teammate in the video). Buzz is not going to throw all of that away to try to rebuild Minnesota (and yes it would be a rebuild).

Probably.. BUT he does not get along well AT ALL with the AD at Marquette and is buddies with Ellis and Teague.. just saying But other than that angle, you are correct..althought Minnesota is not a rebuilding job by any means..the program is not at Marquette's level right now, but not far behind... so its not like taking the Oregon St or Washington St job..

Let's try not to exaggerate the Marquette AD angle.
 


The Gophers were 15-1 and a Top 10 team this year before... It isn't that huge a rebuild with a coach that can develop a couple of our bigs and keep things from falling apart. A JUCO star, a McDonald's All American or two and we can be cooking with gas! This isn't football.
