Phew I was worried we hadn’t seen enough of the refs. Thank goodness they called 3 penalties in 4 plays there

I think it’s refreshing. Having the QBs run like big boys. Probably because of all the option and veer both my team and our opponents ran back in the 80s.

Defensive players are a whole lot bigger and stronger then they were back then.

Yeah. So far the only thing that has worked at all is the QB runs and that isn't going to be an option for the whole game. Need a stop here because don't wan to go into the half down 14 with Ohio State gettting the ball first in second half.

Both defenses doing a good job eliminating the explosive plays and making the other team work for it. Notre Dame just not able to get off the field and are in a lot of trouble heading to half time.
 

If the Buckeyes win the NC by a few scores I think Day keeps his job. That sonuvabitch better beat Michigan next year though.....

If it was just 4 teams it would’ve been:
Oregon - maybe the second or third best team
Georgia with their backup QB - not convinced they’re top 12
Texas - probably in the 3-5 range
Penn state - probably in the 3-5 range

I would rank them:
1) Ohio State
2) Oregon
3) notre dame
4) Penn state
5) Texas

Score doesn't matter....if they win the NC he won't get fired but yeah....he needs to get a W against Michigan real soon. National Championship was one thing that could save him for sure.

Would be pretty comical to fire a coach for only winning the Natty by 1 point.

Yeah.....although if there was a place crazy enough to do it, it would be Ohio State due to loses against Michigan. I guarantee some of their fanbase will be conflicted after this game because as thrilled as they will be about the NC they will be just as mad at the losing streak against the team up North.

Day will be off the hook for this year....but he better hope they win the 2025 matchup in Ann Arbor or the heat will be right back on him.
 




Is it just me or is there a world of inconsistency in the brandishing a weapon penalty? Wally shows his abs, flag. Guys shooting bows and arrows and putting swords back in their sheath throughout all of bowl games and playoffs and nothing. Kind of a goofy penalty.
 

ND finally figured out that just maybe they needed to live and die with throwing the rock
