The Gophers are 1-0 vs UCLA in Texas in the NCAAs. Were you there?

Does anyone know when the time of our Friday game will be announced?
 

Funny thing is gophers got in and not one word from Moses. If the gophers had been left out he would be rolling right now. Maybe he will stop posting.
 

I'm assuming we will play late because of UCLA being a west coast team. At the very least, I would think there is no chance at a early afternoon start.

I was just going to ask if they take teams and TV markets into consideration when determining the time of the games. Agree I think we'd be the late game Friday so it would be a 6:00-7:00 start in L.A.

Probably a PR move. With how the season has gone, would get ridiculed for being happy.

Was anyone else surprised Illinois pulled off a 7 seed? I expected maybe 1 seed better than us, but a 7 seed? U gotta be kidding me!

The game times are usually announced later tonight if I remember right, I would guess we should at least know by 10pm tonight.
 

Time to rally the troops, the family, and the Reusse for a run. Well, maybe not the Reusse. Like someone previously mentioned, who guards Mohammed? The guy is a pure shooter and scorer? So excited to see the Gophers back in the tourney.

Can't imagine they'd have two of the top-16 markets play an early game Friday. Hunch: Gophers-UCLA gets one of the two later

There no way the game will be the first game. Not gonna have UCLA playing at 9:30 am Los Angeles Time.

FWIW, my son's boys claim me as their favorite Grampa on their papa's side. AND, my daughter's boys claim me as their favorite Grampa on their mama's side. Life is good.
 

ESPN just called us the "trendy upset" ... most picked upset on ESPN.com right now.

This is what I'm afraid of, with hockey playing (possibly) UND in the Final Five that night.
 

Looks like the Gophers get the biggest break of all the 11 seeds to face a UCLA team without its 2nd leading scorer, and they play a team in UCLA that likes to run but doesn't rebound. Dream matchup for the Gophers given their 11 seed. UCLA is still talented enough to win because Muhammed could go off and Wear is a nice talent along with Drew. But I would much rather play UCLA over Memphis, Butler or Arizona.

Conversely, UCLA is probably upset about having to play Minnesota instead of getting Bucknell, St.Mary's or Belmont.

Only problem is the long drive down to Austin...Was hoping for KC.

Based off of my super super quick analysis, my guess is we will be the last game of the first round on Friday night.

Two reasons

1. Austin is the furthest west of the four "pods" that day.

2. Of the eight teams playing in Austin, UCLA is the furthest west and we are third. Only other game that might be later than us is CO-Ill, but CO is mountain time.

Also, the 2 other games have Florida and Miami, so you would think they would be early.
