Official NCAA Tournament Games Thread, Buzzer Beater Reaction, Bracket Analysis, etc

@bomani_jones: let the colton "you're not THAT" iverson jokes begin.

Watching Iverson these last couple games against some pretty decent defenders and more physical teams he performed about exactly like I expected. Seems like he was able to feast on a softer Mountain West and didn't really handle the NCAA tourney test too well, IMO he looked about like Eliason and was nothing special. All the people who thought we could have used him and we missed him this season I think this is about how he would have done in the B1G and I would probably take Eliason over him when you factor in you have 2 more years of him and Iverson would be a senior.

How many times do you people mention Colton this year as a Gopher, when in fact, had he stayed, he would have used up his eligibility LAST YEAR!!!

Unless we red shirted him as a senior! So ha!

My observations so far:

1. Oregon appears under-seeded
2. Whiskey sucks a$$
3. The Big 10 is proving themselves nicely
4. Gonzaga is over-seeded
5. Louisville's shorts look like my Dad's PJ's
6. The Gophers can beat Florida if they play their best
7. I have NO idea who wins it all
8. Whiskey sucks a$$

#2 and #8 are facts. The rest are pure conjecture. :)

Memphis' DJ Stephens after getting beat by Michigan State by 22 points:

"No disrespect, but we know that we are a better team than Michigan State," the high-flying forward said after scoring three points, grabbing six rebounds and blocking four shots. "We just gave this game away."

Yeah whatever. Big ten is proving to all, best conference for sure.

Wow, Nix and Appling going at each other in the huddle, had to be separated by student managers. Izzo was none too happy .

SISSY FIGHT! Start pulling hair!

Two other things I've learned, Don:

1. Hamburgers collect a lot of hair when they fall on the carpet and you own a Golden Retriever

2. Vodka Sours make me tough

Don't forget that Iowa has 2 wins in the NIT, and Purdue won it's first game in the CBI.

Wisky is the ONLY B10 team to lose in post season so far.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

A couple of great games tonight with Marquette hanging on against Butler and now Wichita State has the Zags on the ropes!

Go Gophers!!

Wichita State literally cannot miss from 3 this half. It's incredible.

Marquette pulls it out. Gonzaga about to go down. My bracket slowly collapsing in shambles.

Great to see Gonzaga get beat. Never do anything in the tourney. Always overrated because they run a bad conference.

In other news: Michigan reaches it's first Sweet 16 since 1994, finally deciding to no longer accept mediocrity.

If Ohio St. doesn't go to the F4, they have no one to blame but themselves. The #1, #3, #4, #5, #7, and #8 seeds are all out in that region before the S16. The lowest seed they would have to beat is Arizona at #6.

They probably posted more passionately about how Beilein should be fired after losses. That's what's wrong with the Minnesota fanbase, and why our program will never be great, not enough of that here.

They were probably also bitching incessantly after they beat South Dakota State in the first round.

Pretty sure they're going to Atlanta out of the West. Along with Michigan State in the Midwest, Indiana in the East and Minnesota out of the South.

I have a feeling ISU gives OSU all they can handle. I'm rooting for the Big 10 but predicting an ISU victory.

I'm with you on this one I think Iowa State will be in this game right to the end but not sure if they can pull it out but would not be suprised if they do.

I'm bored so i figured I'll go through these. Ha.

1) Performance in the tournament is 100% unrelated to seeding and inclusion in the field. Though, I would've guessed them a higher seed if only because of their resume.
2) Tough break for them... couldn't shoot at all.
3) Indeed; I am happy to see this.
4) Performance in the tournament is 100% unrelated to seeding and inclusion in the field.
5) I actually thought the same thing, except about a pair of PJ's I had when I was little.
6) Yes.
7) Indiana looked really impressive in their one game. So has Louisville in both of theirs. But we'll see.

Awesome tourney so far!

Ohio State is going to win this one by a good twenty points. They're just too much to handle.

I agree, OSU by ten to fifteen

How has Gonzaga gone from the tough scrappy team that regularly advanced in the Tournament circa 10 years ago to Tournament underachievers now? My take is that they have the ability to recruit a higher-rated athlete now, which can be a mixed blessing. These players are more highly recruited but, I think, also softer players, particularly mentally. There's something about that second tier of players you can find out there that have had to scratch and claw a little more than the blue chippers. To a certain extent that's what we're experiencing at Minnesota. Tubby has been able to bring in some decently regarded recruits, but few of them have been as tough minded as that Nolen-Johnson-Westbrook-Hoffarber-Abu Jamala group that he inherited.

so what is iowa state going to do when the transferring fred hoiberg's don't have any more big ten problem children to help fill their roster and add depth. don't get me wrong, iowa state is playing well today. but i have always had a bit of a personal issue with the way fred hoiberg went about building his roster when he got the job there a few years ago. seemed like a cheap way to go about it going after so many problem children from big ten schools who were essentially asked to leave their former schools/programs.
