Just looked! No new posts on the Fire Ben thread? I wonder if they are all so depressed that they can’t come up with any new coaching candidates?
They 100% played their hearts out that game.First thing I thought of. I kinda teared up myself watching the crowd rush the floor. Wonderful result. They played their hearts out.
Just enjoy the break from the negativity. It will return soon enough.Just looked! No new posts on the Fire Ben thread? I wonder if they are all so depressed that they can’t come up with any new coaching candidates?

This win is why you don't fire him now. The season sucks but the players are still bought in and playing hard. So you ride it out and make the move at the end of the year.I've admittedly been on the, fire him now bandwagon, for a while now. I'm happy as hell we won, this one result also won't change my opinion though. Now if we string together 10/11 big ten wins this season, I'd be happy to welcome him back for a 5th year.
Absolutely zero rationale for this especially with Michigan’s 2 bigs to our zero. And their shooting.
But I think this game gets very interesting
I'm a Gopher fan of all sports. Prior to this game I was so turned off by the depths this program has been allowed to fall, i didn't want to watch tonight. I turned it on in OT. but then didn't know how to feel. CBJ needs to go but I don't like the Gophers losing. Sucks that i can't enjoy this the way i always would have.Curious - there have been a number of posters saying they don't even want the team to win because they are so down on Johnson. Did you manage to find a way to enjoy this at all or are you so negative about things that you are bummed the team actually has a reason to be happy for a change?
Right. The issue isn't not wanting them to win. It's fear the AD is looking for any excuse to just shrug, do nothing and kick the can. If they somehow rally and win 11 games, great. Ben gets year 5. If they win 2-3, it probably doesn't matter. I'm scared of the 5-7 win twilight zone, but it's bridge to cross when we get to it.I've admittedly been on the, fire him now bandwagon, for a while now. Come on Gophers! Win one for David Lynch!
That implies they wouldn't play hard for Thorsen. This win is why you don't fire him now. The season sucks but the players are still bought in and playing hard. So you ride it out and make the move at the end of the year.
Heineken tomorrow!Their reward? Getting to watch Twin Peaks: The Return.
If the players are still bought in and playing hard for Ben they aren't going to be motivated to play harder for the interim coach who replaces the guy they were playing hard for. That implies they wouldn't play hard for Thorsen.
See to me that just doesn't make sense. Even knowing where things are ultimately headed with a brand new coach and new players next year I plan to enjoy the heck out of any good moments that manage to come from this season.I'm a Gopher fan of all sports. Heineken tomorrow!
Crap no call live, but the review was only to see if it was an F1, they can’t call a common foul on replay like that.I didn’t know you can bearhug in NCAA basketball these days
When the Gophers counter punched early in the second half, a line from Star Trek popped into my head: "I begin to like you, Earth man, and I saw fear in the Klingon's eyes." I started to see fear in the Wolverines' body language. They were rattled alright. The team figured out how to attack the basket on inside the paint--I meant ATTACK. Second chances! Third chances. Forcing Michigan to slap the ball out of bounds. Tip in buckets. Even 3-pointers after missed in the paint shots. Outstanding game to watch. I like the fact that the team barely relied upon the 3-point shot as their first option. It forced Michigan into a slug fest for control and that rattled Michigan just enough to gain a slim victory. I can't remember a slug fest like this since Clem was coach. (Give me a break! I have selective memory issues.)

Successful season!!Does Coyle announce the contract extension for Ben Johnson tomorrow?
After all Johnson said all they needed was one game to breakthrough and have something to fall back on.
Was thinking the same thing that a number like that would save his firing this year. I like the recruits he's landed for next yearI've admittedly been on the, fire him now bandwagon, for a while now. Signed Corky Taylor. Two things were popping in my head: both eyes as my blood pressure was maxing out. I try to take it easy during games and not invest the emotional energy I once had. Tonight, I made an exception to the rule and hung on every shot, rebound, and shot to the groin.
That dawg can hunt.Signed Corky Taylor.
That thread needed time to rest. It's been out hustling the other threads all season.Just looked! No new posts on the Fire Ben thread? I wonder if they are all so depressed that they can’t come up with any new coaching candidates?
