Not bad for sophomore highlights. I’d like to see his 2020 to see his growth. He looks about 5’6” in those and his speed doesn’t appear unworldly.

I’m not saying he doesn’t have it. Just would like to see the growth from sophomore to junior.

I like the vision and how shifty he is. Looks to be a good pickup.

This isn’t Kill’s program where QB’s can move to other positions. Fleck recruit mostly pro style QB’s. Kramer could maybe become an LB, but I don’t see that happening.

He will find his niche, and game speed in development. TJ worked hard on his technique. Look where he is now. He is a model for instate wannabees.

Many are using Cold weather as the reason. These kids want to play where it’s warm.
Although Missouri and Notre Dame made the lists.

Guys like Sam Pickerign are the unsung heroes of the program. They help with the practice squad in other ways I can't imagine. By golly, with the extra year he will finish grad school. I don't know if he is on scholie. The scholie guys will not owe money for tuition. If they finished early and are in grad school already, they may not owe a dime and have their undergrad and grad studies paid for.

Not a bad deal these days! Let's hope that some of the backup QBs intend to graduate in a Gophers uniform.

Ha I think not winning is a reason. They appear no closer to their glory days than the gophers do.

He recently ran an electronically time 4.5 according to one article I read. He also impressed at a 7 on 7 camp in Florida and was tabbed one of the best slot wrs in the Midwest.

Cull is from my hometown and where I went to high school. Didn’t know the Gophers were recruiting him. I live one town over now and don’t see Seminole play much anymore but now have a reason to go back home and watch. For reference, Seminole is in class A which is the smallest division in Georgia football. The school has some tradition of good players though. Most recently Bacarri Rambo and Phillip Daniels, both of whom went to Georgia and had NFL careers, came out of Seminole County.

I have a feeling this 2022 cycle is going to be a really odd one for fans that get caught up in the rankings. There is no way the recruiting sites are not way behind in their evaluations so there will probably be a lot of names that come out of nowhere for fans.

There will probably be a lot more late ratings bumps than usual in this cycle.
 

Not having live evaluations or camps due to the pandemic makes for interesting 2022 recruiting class.

This is like "eye candy": buying pastries based on appearances rather than from tasting samples.

I'm actually kind of curious how big an impact all this will have on the teams ability to recruit. I know fans rely on the recruiting sites to tell them how good a player is but I don't think the coaches work quite the same way. They rely far more on their relationships with High School coaches and in person evaluations of players.

In other words, the recruiting sites do the work for fans but I don't think the teams are quite as dependent on them. The one thing that is likely to hurt the teams though is the shortened seasons or full on cancellations that took place in some areas. Far less game film to evaluate and in the end that game film is the most important tool coaches have for evaluating kids.

I have no doubt there will be even more kids that fall through the cracks, especially in some of the areas where it is already harder to get noticed.

I am wondering if they will make sure recruiting staff are vaccinated/tested. Also, will they require prospects to be tested?

It will be interesting how creative the College Recruiting Teams become cognizant of all the science behind Covid spread. The Gophers were sort of the pioneers in Virtual Recruiting. I am curious to see what the Gophers plans are.

IMHO, Hoskins appear to be underrated. I wonder if there was no pandemic if his ratings will be higher. I wonder if Iowa is going to sway Knuth away from the Gophers. The Iowa coaching staff is pulling a Bluto trying to steal Mr. Whimpy away from Popeye the Sailorman. Will poaching be more prevalent this recruiting class? I wonder about teams swooping down on the Gophers' recruits after they do all the heavy lifting.

Not really sure where you are going with this one. I highly doubt a team would offer a kid just because Minnesota did. There are only a handful of schools that would have the potential to just swoop in and steal a recruit from a power 5 school out of the blue. Alabama and Ohio State probably could but in most cases recruiting is very heavily dependent on relationships and time.

For example, as fans, most of us are just becoming aware of these 2022 kids but it isn't like they are new to the coaches. I am sure Iowa has been aware of Knuth and just decided to offer him. Our offer might have motivated them to move quicker but I am sure they knew who he was prior to us offering.

On top of that there is nothing for them to "steal" at the moment. They have as much right to recruit him and offer him as we do.
 

It is all par for the course. When ND and Michigan offered some of our recruits in the past, they opted to go with them. I am talking about inter-divisional rivals.
 

I assume Fleck will offer Chase Androff. It's interesting that Michigan State and Nebraska have already offered. Fleck seems to be being patient with some of the instate guys.

K-State is a "hand the ball off, game manager" job, if there ever was one. Bunch of former NDSU guys, so their offense is a lot of QB under center, run the ball between the tackles.

At least here, you get to throw the ball some.
