Does anyone know if these tweets are these tweets are referring to the same guy? Burns said the 5* is a JUCO. Didn't see anything else about the SEC commit.

apparently has a troubled history, allegedly domestic violence, not to big on him joining the program. Was dismissed from ASU team not long ago

Davon Durant MLB, sending Damien Wilson to the league is helping out with him.

Pump the brakes. This does not sound like a Kill recruit.

The staff is at emporia st and that is just down the hill from Butler CC where Durant attended. Maybe they met him this morning and thought about giving him a chance, he would certainly help out on the D side if he can keep his head together.

i trust kill and staff to give a kid a second chance and shape them up

A chance at redemption if JK will take him. He better not screw it up.

Are we going to see Minnesota turn into Defensive Backfield U if they keep getting players into the next level?

Let's start by upsetting TCU.

Would he play this fall?

They have until the first part of Feb 16 to pull the offer if he screws up. Not much to lose if he is a top recruit. With Kills history no chance the guy last if he doesn't follow the rules.

Go Gophers!

You sure about that? He already did his two years at JUCO. This late in the game he might have to sit a year or redshirt, but he'd be at whatever school he was brought into immediately.

At least that's how I read it. Could be wrong.

I trust Kill to do the right thing after he and his staff have done their his due diligence. Last thing I would want though would be the GopherHole making that decision. Now that would be scary!

Correct. So he'll probably be deciding pretty quick.

I love talent and fully trust coach Kill but this didn't paint the prettiest picture

Not surprisingly, one of the linchpins of Arizona State’s 2015 recruiting class won’t ever play a down for the Sun Devils.

In a conversation with SI.com‘s Thayer Evans, Todd Graham confirmed that his football program has “parted ways” with Davon Durant. The JUCO signee was involved in a March domestic violence incident in which he was initially charged with one count of felony aggravated assault and three counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Three months later, he reached a plea agreement in which he was sentenced to two years of supervised probation.

Despite the plea deal that reduced the charges down to a single misdemeanor, Graham stated that Durant, who was both indefinitely suspended by Graham and ultimately expelled from the university, had dug his own hole and there was no turning back for any of the parties involved.

“It’s a bad deal, but you’ve got to have accountability,” Graham told SI.com. “We don’t just talk about character and discipline. We live it. No matter what the legal system does, our standards are high, and our guys know that. They know they’re going to be held accountable.”

It was alleged at the time of the incident that the female victim was hit by Durant “in the face once and grabbed her around the neck,” leading to “visible injuries, including a bruise below her left eye and bruising around her neck that was consistent with finger marks.” The victim, Durant’s still-girlfriend Kelsi Langley, had previously recanted her initial claims even as there were multiple eyewitnesses who corroborated her original story.

It does appear, though, there was a path, eventually, for Durant to be readmitted to the university. From the Arizona Republic:

On June 23, ASU informed Durant he must complete court-ordered domestic-violence counseling before applying for re-admission to the university, a source with knowledge of the situation told azcentral sports.

In a subsequent report from the Republic, Durant’s attorney stated that his client is still enrolled in classes at ASU — he has requested a “re-hearing,” which allows him to take classes — and would like to continue his playing career with the Sun Devils. Per the newspaper, however, the “re-hearing” will likely have no impact on his future with the football team.

As such, Durant’s already begun the process of finding a new football home. Where he may be looking has not been divulged.

Transferring in from the JUCO ranks, Durant had been expected to be a significant contributor to the Sun Devils’ defense in 2015.

Coming out of Butler County Community College, Durant was a four-star member of ASU’s 2015 recruiting class. Durant, a South Carolina native, had actually been a verbal commitment to South Carolina during part of his time at the Kansas JUCO, but flipped his commitment to ASU in October.

Is this where Coach Kill uses the scholarship he has in his hip pocket? I just seems a little late in the game unless it's a redshirt situation.

Girl friend says he never hit her while witnesses are claiming he did

http://www.fox10phoenix.com/story/2...traight-girlfriend-of-davon-durant-speaks-out

9-1-1 callers painted a picture of the events that led to the arrest of Arizona State University football recruit Davon Durant. He was taken into custody in Tempe three weeks ago after investigators say he hit his girlfriend in the face and grabbed her neck during an argument.

Operator: "9-1-1 what is your emergency?"

Caller: "Yeah, there's some guy like beating a girl in a car."

Operator: "Where are you?"

Caller: "It's on Normal and Apache.. the guy is in an SUV."

Caller: "..and he's hitting her.. yeah, they're in the car.. the girl is like leaning and these guys.. I just ran into.. saw him hitting her."

Later, Durant's girlfriend, Kelsi Langley, changed her story, telling police Durant didn't attack her -- but police say witnesses back up her original story and they have evidence that she had been injured.

Durant has been suspended indefinitely from the ASU football team and Langley is speaking out, saying it was nothing more than a fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend and wants to set the record straight. She's calling for all charges to be dropped.

Langley called her relationship with Durant "wonderful" and said there's no one else in the world she'd rather be with. She says she regrets telling police Durant struck her during that argument and that she did it to get him in trouble out of spite.

"He never laid a finger on me," said Langley during a news conference on Tuesday. The 19-year-old ASU student says she made up the allegations that Durant abused her during an argument on March 7th.

"While my original statement may have painted a different picture, I just wanted it to be known that it was said out of anger."

Langley says she was upset with Durant for talking to other girls, but that he never actually touched her during the argument, despite what she told officers at the scene that night.

When I asked Langley about the police report, which states Durant struck her, that he impeded her ability to breathe and now she's saying she made it all up, she replied, "Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm not proud to say that all, that I made that up, but I did it out of anger, to really just get him into trouble and that was the wrong way to handle it."

If Kill thinks the kid deserves a chance, I'm all for it. Kill is by all accounts a character guy and runs a clean program; it might do the kid some good to come to Minnesota.

Bingo. I'm sure Kill has made it very clear the expectations involved with a scholarship offer. A kid like him can have his life go in two directions. There is no doubt that Kill and staff would be an overwhelming force for the positive of said directions.
