Brown has been told he's being recruited as a WR. Of course, that doesn't mean it's a guarantee he'd end up there.

Also according to Burns, someone who has taken an official will commit to the Gophs this week but doesn't want his name released yet.

Tight End Jerry Gibson from Alabama rated a 3-star 76 by ESPN and a 2-star on rivals…and an 84 3-star on 247….
 


Not sure if Gibson was the commit Burns was talking about...

Theodore, Alabama, is the hometown of Crimson Tide LB C.J. Mosley, so they obviously have some talent in that program. Gibson looks like a very intriguing player and like I've said about 1,000 times before, I'm really impressed that Kill and company are recruiting the Deep South aggressively.

Apparently Asantay Brown has recommitted back to Western Michigan and is no longer visiting. Weird.

LB Christian Russell will announce on December 18th between Minnesota and UCF. It sounds like UCF is in the lead after Russell's visit this weekend.

Certainly can't hurt but likely won't do any good. Russell has already decided and informed both staffs, just waiting until the 18th to announce publicly.

True, but players change their mind all the time. Even if he commits to UCF, he could end up signing with us. Trying not to lose hope ha.

Definitely, and if he did decide on UCF then I'm sure the coaching staff hasn't given up. Was just clarifying that he has already made his decision.

This same guy reported 6 months ago that Porter received a Gopher offer but Ryan Burns says otherwise. Apparently Sawvel is meeting with him this week, though.

Richardson will be a stud. Solid get. I think this class will be quite good. Wasn't that Ragnow visit tonight?
 

Outside of ragnow, any other MN kids we may possibly look to offer more than just a PWO that are left? otherwise if we landed frank and kept jones, that'd be a pretty solid job of shutting down the borders by us this year. having j.c. head to bama hurts, but it's going to be pretty rare a kid will turn down an offer of that caliber. any word on how solid he is on his commitment? just seeing there are some pretty highly touted kids on the line heading there as well even though i know there's next to no chance he'd flip to us, it's just fun to discuss
