Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

Assuming he's making North of $2 million dollars. Even if he gets gassed in a year or two he's getting a bag and will end up in a job similar to Minnesota DC role in prestige if Miami doesn't work out.
That would put him in the top 5-6 paid coordinators in college. You honestly think Miami would pay that for someone with one year in FBS let alone someone with more experience and success at this level? They have already over paid for their HC.

Oh, no! He should be paid as "assistant head coach" and get an impressive raise. It's all about money now and the U has to dish out and not just for coordinators.

I think Hetherman struck while the iron was hot. I like him and wish we could have seen more of him for a few more years but he got paid for his one year of success at the FBS level. And against the bowl teams we played, we were just somewhere between okay and good. We gave up about 24 points a game to the bowl teams we played. He also had some pretty solid veteran guys that he inherited.

Again, seemed like a good coach and wish we hadn’t lost him but not sure we saw enough to pull our hair out and gnash our teeth because he left.

Yeah, I don’t blame him for making the move and I’m not too upset. Not many people decommitted or transferred when Rossi left, so I doubt many will here especially if we promote from within. I think our defense still has a chance to be great next year and I’m still optimistic, even if I would have preferred it if Hetherman stayed.

We're in the era of musical chairs for players and coaches. Don't get attached and don't expect somebody to stick around too long.

The question is, without attachment and committment, will the fans still care as much a few years down the line?
