Koi Perich Transfer Portal

Well, they are unidentified because I can't identify them. That's usually how it works.

I'm an alumni of UMN, 1986. I was there when this started to fester. I've watched it grow over time.
Lol, ok, this confirms my assumption. Just another dude posting.
I wasn't asking you to name names, not that I think you could....but you could probably move a little out of vague terms if you wanted to strengthen your position.

I'd guess he would like a shot at a national championship.
Not sure how you could watch Indiana stomp Alabama or watch Ole Miss win a thriller over Georgia and not think, "Damn, that would be so much fun to be on a team like that." Even, more exciting than taking on New Mexico on a ball field in whatever the hell the name of that bowl game was.

I've heard Wisconsin has money coming in but I doubt he wants to go to a rebuild like that.

No chance Iowa has the money for him. They shop at the bargain rack in the portal. Even if they did Ferentz wouldn't let him play offense.
Ferentz and Iowa wouldn't tolerate a safety who has a 27% missed tackle rate, either. Their safeties play disciplined ball and are single digits in missed tackles year over year. Yes, his tackling this past season was THAT bad. And it got objectively worse after the Cal game offensive benching, where rumors began to swirl he was unhappy with his offensive snaps being cut to 0. I will surmise more will surface on locker room antics in the next several weeks. Something was really off.

His coverage was below average as well.

It’s odd. Fleck is very much the program is the program but with Perich he kind of gave him more than he earned.

Anyone else in the history of Row the boat stay the punt returner after cal game? No

He’s a really good player. One of the most talented on the team. But he is too inconsistent. I am not sure he is a starter for any of the playoff teams.
I think he is a role player on all of the playoff teams…if he accepts that role

I think it’s entirely possible we offered him less money for next year because of his play on the field and he said good bye. This might be a mutual parting where we feel we can make better use of that money elsewhere.
Or even could just be that they offered less because they don't feel it's worth using that much of the NIL budget for a safety, regardless of his struggles or not. The trenches is where you win or lose games many times.

This is the correct attitude, in my opinion. I share it.
When I buy a new pickup, I know it depreciates the moment I drive off the lot, but I like the newness. I've put myself through the U and one kid. I buy FB, WBB season tickets, and give to DTA. What's my ROI? Just feeling like I'm still doing my part.

Those who know and those who lived through it don't need names rehashed. If you want specificity, then you should form an investigative committee.

I'm not going to blame him for looking around, especially if he plans to declare for the draft after his junior year. Scouts are everywhere, but they do nose around more at the helmet schools. A lot will be boil down to how his skill set matches up with what other teams need or desire. I said it earlier in the season, but with the CB play being so iffy this year, the safeties were bound to be stressed a bit and not looking as sharp as in 2024. Add to it our LB corps doesn't drop into coverage well so the backend that has to do an awful lot of sweeping up.

I hope he comes back because he is a special talent.

Would be nice if Perich decided to stay with the program. But Smith returning softens the blow.....as he is our most impactful defensive player.

So, he chose to play offense, defense and special teams, risking injury in the storied and highly prestigious Rate Bowl, and then decided it was time to move on? Either he and his handlers/family/advisors are among the dumbest people to walk this planet, or someone came around with more money. No other scenario makes any sense.
Could just be me, but I don't think Koi is the brightest bulb on the planet.

I wouldn’t say it’s virtually zero, but I don’t like our odds in this case. Maybe 10% chance at best, just my gut feeling. Emmet Johnson is an example of someone who entered and then stayed with Nebraska. It happens a fair bit.
I would say it's zero on the Kelvin scale that he comes back.
