1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The number one reason I come here is for the recruiting information. I love checking up on who is - or may be committing soon. I also really like the interviews; they're usually really well done and informational.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Know-it-alls, personality clashes, arguing for the sake of arguing (which is rampant here).

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? I think it's pretty good as it is. I'd like to see more posts per day - especially in the off season - but I understand it's hard with the relative inactivity of the team Jan - July.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Haven't attended a game in a long time. Probably the last one I was at - vs Toledo - with a Rhees Llyod fake punt and great Ernie Wheelwright diving catch for a TD.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Nowhere. Sad.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? A few games with my parents as a kid and then more recently with friends in high school and college.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? I like the idea of scheduling Notre Dame - yea I know they already play a lot of Big Ten games... but I have some good friends who rave about the Irish and I'd love to put 'em in their place.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? Most things, but mainly the football message board. I love getting breaking news from people closer to the program than I; love the year-round focus on football; recruiting news; player/recruit interviews (thanks Nadine!).

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? I do get annoyed by those who come on here simply to flame, but I understand it comes with the territory of internet message boards. Plus, as others have mentioned, I know a lot of people who post here have good intentions and are just frustrated fans. For the most part, the mods here do a good job keeping things under control.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Nothing major. I think hearing what former players and coaches are up to would be interesting. I'd love if if you went "big-time" and became a major player in town--regulars at press conferences, interviews with Coach Brewster, etc.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: So many...that's a tough one! Probably Air Force last year.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Iowa.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? Normally my wife and 3-year old daughter. My dad and brother come up from Iowa for one game a year. I invite friends a couple times a year as well.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Doesn't matter to me. Currently have some great non-con games scheduled in football, so I'm stoked about that! Just keep that up, Coach!

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Return of old timers to the board. Game day previews for basketball. College Hoops Notebook, and Sunday Night Ramble.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? Keeping up to date on inside info, opinions and memories of other posters. Not many gopher fans out in Massachusetts so it's nice to feel connected in some way to the U and gopher sports. I also enjoy the interviews from future current and past gophers a lot.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The negativity and bickering that goes back and forth. I wish people would act more like grown ups and realize that we are all gopher fans and are just giving our opinions. I also hate posters who post just to piss people off.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? I love info on recruiting. Maybe a link for posters to share photos. It's nice for us out of towners to see all the festivities. Pictures of the new stadium were amazing this past fall.

Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: I can't remember the when the game was but at the barn maybe 20 years ago or so when we were playing wisconsin and they had a freshman on the line with no time left and the gophers up by one. He missed them both and we got the W. I also remember my first footbal game at the dome against Iowa with Ricky Foggie at QB. I had nose bleed seats with my dad but I didn't care!

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Never traveled with the team. I'm waiting for a game in New England!!!!

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? Not a big follower of recruiting sites like Rivals of Scout so its good to get some inside info on players the Gophers are recruiting to stay up to date on those things. Two favorites: JohnnyGopher and BleedGopher

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? "Sky is falling" attitude after every loss. Nonsensical ramblings and bitter posters. Additionally, though most of my posts are positive towards the Gophers-it is lame when someone writes something critical (not over the top) about the Gophers and gets lambasted and criticized.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The one stop-shop for all things Gopher related. The links that are always supplied from all the various sources. The usually good back-and-forth of the message board. The Gopherhole-originated stories by GopherLady and others. The easy links to the football and basketball schedules.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Trolls, and the complete meltdowns after every loss, though they are sometimes amusing, but that's life. The seeming over-football oriented slant of the articles on the front page.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More focus on basketball during basketball season. The headline article for most of the winter has been football related (currently an interview with Cosgrove.) For football there is a game preview and game recap every week. There's never one for basketball. I can understand not doing this for every cupcake NC game. But games like the one we just had deserve a preview and recap as much as the football team's annuall whooping by Ohio State, etc.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Not really a favrite, but since it was my first, I'll pick it. It was the home-coming game against Indiana that we lost 18-17 at the last second in 1987. It prepared me for life as a Gopher fan.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? 2009 NCAA tourament and a game at Maryland for basketball. 2005 Music City Bowl and a football game at Penn State.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? I love the humor, insight, sarcasm, and bashing the trolls. I really enjoy the Where Are They Now segments, player interviews, and the Predict The Score contest.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? 90% of threads get off topic very quickly. Additionally, some of the mods obviously have no sense of humor, because I've posted funny polls before only to have them pulled.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More coverage on recruiting. It seems like the only info we get on recruiting is from senior members. It would be nice to conduct interviews with all incoming players.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: 1989, Rider v. UM, my first game at the barn. I remember the Gophers winning by 50-60 points. Willie Burton was a man amongst boys and he instantly became my idol.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Ames, IA, MN v. ISU basketball in 2007. At the end of the game I got spit on my an ISU fan. I chased him down and grabbed him. The fight got broken up immediately by other ISU fans. BTW, I'm 6'8" and he was just a short-fat farmer that I could have throttled.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? Up to the minute news/info; having a free outlet to post info/facts/opinions; thankful for the IGNORE function (it has made my GH experience so much better); recruiting info/facts; the posters that are intelligent and witty - those that understand how to contribute and build up rather than tear down.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Rational threads quickly devolving into name calling and sniping; Multiple threads re: the same topic; personal attacks; too many posts that do nothing to move the dialogue forward; too many posters too quick to judge others as trolls just for having a "negative" opinion - it is 100% possible for a "true" fan to have a negative opinion but many around here don't think so; and finally, I quickly grow tired of so many people confusing opinions for facts and working way too hard to defend them as such.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Stronger moderation - Nadine does a great job around here and deserves tons of thanks but I'd really like to see the following:
- multiple threads on the same topic should be merged when possible (or new ones deleted as they appear)
- posters who insist on calling people names should be given warnings and/or banned far more quickly. Some posters just have a knack for ruining threads with personal attacks on those who disagree - the ban hammer should drop more quickly around here IMO.
- I'd like to see hot topics get a sticky more than they do - if a topic is receiving huge numbers of views/posts, don't be afraid to pin it for a while.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Nebraska v. Florida 1995 - national championship game in Tempe. Nebraska won 62-24 and Tommie Frazier ran for his famous "made 9 guys miss" TD run (putting an exclamation point on what should have been a Heisman season).

Football - Jefferson/Eden Prairie Section Championship Game, 1994. Jefferson wins a true road game @EP in Overtime on a missed XP, beating Mike Grant, Kevin Kasper, LeRoy McFadden, and most importantly, all the EP snobs. Sadly, its the last time TJ was in the state tourney.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The current news and scoops on recruiting. I enjoy GopherLady interviews with players and coaches. I like the guess the score and where are they now.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Trolls. People who get personal and attack other posters.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More interviews with the coaching staffs, players and former players. Staff should be more aggressive in removing negative and inappropriate posters.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Basketball in the Barn against Illinois when I was in graduate school in the 80's, they were ranked #1 in the country and we beat them. I screamed so loud I couldn't talk for several days.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? I've attended most games with my wife or a friend who has season basketball tickets.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? I'd like to see more Big 12 games in both sports. PAC 10 in basketball and play more basketball preseason games against local MN and SD teams.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? GopherLady. Mix of young and old. Not always agreeing, but able to respectfully see different points of view. The ability to use the ignore feature for those who can't.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Nothing really. All other negatives that I have seen others post are things I expect on a free board.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Information on a side bar that either links to or has its own page regarding Gopher info. For example, it would be cool to see info with year by year historical schedules of the football and basketball teams (and if possible, a spot where posters could add memories from specific games - almost like a Google document?), all-time individual records for football and basketball. Wonder who the all-time leading rebounders are? Just look it up here. What was Clem Haskins' career record? Just look it up here. It would be neat to be able to find future schedules. If the info is already out there, link to it. If not, it would not be real time consuming to put something together and may help the site grow. Kind of make this a one stop shop for Gopher info.

An unconditional support of open discussion and debate as long as the debate is not personal. The Gopher Hole should be held up as a beacon for liberty and freedom as far as chat rooms go. Implement a penal system for those who use incendiary language such as Troll & Sock-Puppet to stifle open debate and discussion in an attempt to silence dissent.

Start a new chat room for those that only want to hear positive things about the gophers. (It will become the Air America of chat rooms, but it would silence those that only want positivity as it would be so boring no one would visit it.)

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Basketball -- The Indiana game in 2006. The famous Zach Puchtel, we were 0-6 game going up against top-15 Hoosiers. My wife and I took our kids... my daughter was a month old and my son not quite 2. Believe it or not, they slept almost the entire game while the crowd went bonkers! Great memory. Other favorites include the Cincinnati game in Dec 1994, my first (and only for almost a decade) at Williams Arena; Wisconsin home game 2009; Wisconsin home game 2010. Football -- Wisconsin 2003, Purdue 2005, and Iowa 2006. (If the football question was about most disastrous games attended, I have 3 or 4 that still give me nightmares!)

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Some of the posts that are clearly placed only to provoke base reactions. Typically they are flavored with an exaggerated sensationalism that I find tastes like bullsh!t.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Mostly, I just wish you could free up more of my time to spend on the board.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? - I like the passion of the posters, and I like to read the insights of others on the board. I also particularly like the games people will put up, such as Pick Per Day and the football bet against the spread. I also enjoy messing with people's heads once in a while...

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? - At times, the board can get rather toxic, particularly after several losses in basketball, or in late October/early November in football (sadly, you can set your watch to that).

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? - Just the continued growth of the website, with even more posters and more insights.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Interestingly enough for football, it was a Gopher loss. It was the 1999 Minnesota/Wisconsin football game at the dome, when the Gophers lost 20-17 in overtime. The place was rocking, split half-and-half as usual, and it was loud on every play. The Gophers let it slip away, and may have gone to the Rose Bowl had they won. More importantly though, it was that football game, my first time at a Gopher football game, that made me decide that the University of Minnesota was the place I was going to attend...the rest is history. As for basketball, there are so many great memories, but I would say either any win vs. Wisconsin at the Barn (including the other night), or my trip to see the Gophers play Penn State...it was a spur of the moment trip to get on a plane and watch the Gophers clinch an NCAA berth in 2005, while acquiring press passes after getting to the game.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Madison (WI), Iowa City (IA), Evanston (NU), Ann Arbor (MI), Champaign (IL), State College (PSU), Nashville (Music City Bowl), Ames (ISU)

I've most always had the opportunity to bring friends and family to the games with me, including my parents, brothers and sisters, and others. If not, I've enjoyed the company of 14,000 of my best friends at the Barn and the Bank!

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Iowa State has always made sense to me, both for football and basketball. Nebraska is the same, for both. Other games I'd like to see added are against Washington, Pittsburgh, and some of our other traditional rivals. I don't mind playing 1-AA teams, but I like them to be regional games, so I would like to keep with a traditional rotation of NDSU, SDSU, and Northern Iowa as an addition. I wouldn't mind playing them in basketball as well.
