3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Increase usage and awareness of the chat room during games, I think it's a great tool and would love to see more people use it.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? It's an open site that welcomes opinions from anyone who has one. Great place to find Gopher information from all corners.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The open site concept that makes it great is also its fatal flaw. Way too much trolling and bickering nonsense.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Continued growth adding more posters into the mix.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Football against Iowa in 2004. Had student tickets and remember Sherels making a game-changing interception on the Gopher goal line as the 1st half ended. Drew Tate got beaten up physically and mentally and left the game for a time in the 2nd half. Starting to forget how great it feels to win a rivalry football game.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Football: Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Indiana; Basketball: Wisconsin

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? Friends mostly, but family when we have extra tickets.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? For football, I like seeing unique match ups year to year, so don't know that I have a preference. Maybe Nebraska just to resurrect an old midwestern rivalry. For basketball, I absolute think Iowa State should be on the schedule every year. Closest BCS school in terms of mileage, yet we don't play as often as we probably should.

Season ticket holder for Gopher football and/or basketball: Yes to football. No to basketball. Living in Houston is a challenge but I made it to 4 FB games last year and I manage to get to 1 BB game a year over Thanksgiving or Christmas when I'm visiting family/friends.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The people connected to the program that post on the site, plus the interviews by Gopherlady and others.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Wish the administrators were quicker with pulling the trigger on banning certain posters. If you have never posted on this site and you come on here and write 20 negative posts in a row, that should be a bannable offense. Your obviously not here for a rational discussion. You're hear to flame and as a result, well-meaning threads get hijacked and spiral out of control to the point where it just becomes a pointless b!tching match.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More control over the boards. 3 threads on the same subject should either be combined into 1 or have the lesser versions of it locked. Sometimes it's difficult to navigate thru some of the boards. Also, ban away.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: 3/4 of the '03 Michigan game. Other would be the OT win against Purdue in '04. Basketball would be '97 vs Purdue.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Been to the last 4 games in Madison for football. Been two a BB game in Madison 5 years ago. Also, been to a Gopher BB exhibition game in Belgium in '93

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? Tailgate group of 12 people, which includes my older sister and bro-in-law and a couple of good friends. I'm part owner of the big yellow(gold) '73 Dodge conversion van seen in the RV lot. Come by and say high next season if you see our group.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Texas for football. Annually the best measuring stick of where the program needs to improve. Plus gets the Gophers mentioned in Texas which is where the out-of-state recruiting should be concentrated. Iowa State for basketball. It's close enough for Gopher fans to attend in droves. Would be a good matchup over Thanksgiving or Winter breaks.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? I like reading the many different opinions and viewpoints. Some people are really out there. . . in a good and bad way. I respect the research and thoughtfulness of many of the posters.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The misplaced negativity. Too many posters are overly negative and hide behind the term 'realist.' I rarely (almost never) post my opinions because some d-bag will probably crap all over it, and I don't really need an online pissing match in my life.


3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Nothing really. For what it is, Gopherhole is great. Although the user interface is a little old fashioned.

MN v IA 2006. Loved the 'Who Hate's Iowa' chant and the dejected looks on the hawk fans pitiful faces on the way out of the building.

MN vs Mich St 2009. Personal record for most high five exchanges with strangers.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road?
Football: Wisky - awesome student section,tailgating and bars; Michigan - lamer than I expected; Ohio State - Awesome pregame partying, very welcoming fans, experienced a Top 5 Rouser with 4 fellow Gophers at PJ's Fat Sandwich shop at 3am a Saturday morning before the game.

Basketball: Illinois. That's hillbilly country right there. Although it was great to have random locals to party with all night, the fans were almost too nice. I was not heckled once.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? Dad, Buddies and Girlfriend

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Basketball: Marquette Football: Nebraska - I would like to get to a game in Lincoln someday.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? Most all of the insights. I also enjoy the Where Are They Now segments.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The hijacking of threads. This last year has been a real uptick in negativity.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More in-depth articles with the coaching staffs, and especially with former players. Quicker banning of trolls.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Ohio State 1981 football game. Hohensee to Carroll! Michigan State 1982 basketball - championship for Tucker, Dutcher, Bruer, etc.!

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Des Moines, Ames, & Iowa City for Gopher football and/or for basketball. Madison for football. Evanston for basketball. 1997 Kansas City tourney appearance that *never* happened. An odd game in Manhattan, KS many years ago now....

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? I've attended a lot of games with my wife, several with father-in-law, and several times alone.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? I'd like to see the Iowa State Cyclones on the football schedule. I'd like to see Drake, Northern Iowa, and Creighton for basketball.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Often I feel frustrated at impatient and oversimplified opinions, the world isn't black and white, it's many shades of gray.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Overall, everything is great, maybe more inside info stuff, but then again it's a free site, which I also like. More specified interview questions would add some interest too.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: TCF stadium opener, no way you could have been there and not felt electricity. Just amazing from pre game to Hail Minnesota.

I'd love to play a down south big boy up here in November, it will never happen for obvious reasons, but someone like Florida or Florida state in Nov. would be cool to see.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Lack of moderation of the boards: flaming; trolling; repeat threads; personal attacks; thread-jacking; etc.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Moderation of the boards, per question 2. Everything else is out-standing.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Gophers upsetting #23 Syracuse in the late 90's while I was a student, attending in the student section. Basketball? No favorite memory, outside of watching the hockey team play in the old barn and sneaking over to catch the end of the basketball games in the standing room only area.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: That's hard. Anytime we beat Wisconsin - especially in football when we were their only loss - '92? My favorite basketball game was the record setting win over Bobby Knight and Indiana. I think the Gophers won by 50. Every basket made it even better.

What do you like about the Gopherhole site: I really enjoy all the information thats presented on this site about my favorite team. From recruiting to alums, there is information thats hard to find in other places, It's a one stop shop for Gopher info.

What do you dislike about Gopherhole: There can be alot of jerks on here from time to time. I wish some people would stop and think about what they write because it can be freakin' mean to some members and players.

What improvements would you like to see implemented: I'm not sure, maybe more player bio's and interviews.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The efforts of the staff, the links BleedGopher scrounges up on a near daily basis, the humor that a lot of posters bring to already out of control threads.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? I'm hooked and I come here far too often on a daily basis. Also, negative posters that only come out after a loss or a negative occurrence to the program. Be negative by all means, but consistently post and elicit good conversation during downtime. Art is the only one here who I don't mind the negativity from because he hangs around and surprisingly enlightens on occasion :eek:

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Make it less addicting. Otherwise keep it up, great job.

I. Demograhics: Age 69. Gender: Male. # of years as a Gopher fan: 61. Minnesota Native: Yes. I was born in Minneapolis, raised in Montevideo, and have lived in Reston, Virginia (just outside of Washinton, DC) since 1972. Degrees: BSB Minnesota 1962, JD UCLA 1965. I typically attend one football game a year, and have attended 3 or 4 basketball games at Penn State. I would like to attend at least one basketball game annually, but keep expierencing conflicts that make it inpossible to do. I am not a season ticket holder for either football or basketball, but would be if I lived closer to Minneapolis.

1. What do you like about the Gopher Hole site: Recruiting and program information.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The negativity and incivility of posters, which is a serious problem. I think that constructive criticism should be encouraged, but insults and incivility should not be tolerated. I am particularly offended by the phrase "drinking the kool aid" and its variations.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More agressive monitoring of negative and incivil posters. There should be zero tolerance of rival fans who post taunts.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: The ending was terrible, but I was never more jacked up before and during a game than 2003 Michigan. If we had won, I would've found a way to the field from the second deck student section, despite the hundreds of security guards.

I don't want to see a regularly scheduled football game - there are not enough OOC games to be that restrictive. 1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? I enjoy reading about some of the inside info that some posters are privy to and are gracious enough to post here for all to read.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Honestly, there is nothing I really dislike, I even enjoy trolls posting every once in a while because I love reading the responses it provokes by regular posters whose delivery and prose are absolutely hilarious. What bothers me more than trolls are the people who call themselves gopher fans but consistently bash the coach, program, and players. I enjoy differences of opinion; it’s one of the many things that make this board great. However, this Minnesota pessimism where everything is wrong if it’s not perfect can get frustrating.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More Q and A’s with coaches and players, and more poll questions.

Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: I can’t say I have a favorite game, I can say my most memorable event involving the Gophers was a skate around with the Minnesota Gopher Hockey team. I was young, but it was at the Old Mariucci Arena and all who came got to go on the ice and skate with the team. I got to talk to the players (Jeff Stolp I remember most as I was a goalie also and he was giving me some pointers).

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? No football or basketball, but I got to see a Hockey game in Colorado Springs vs. the CC Tigers.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with. My dad, I had to talk him into buying season tickets last year and he made me promise I would fly up to see at least one with him. I think I have him sold for this year, so I will have to save the pennies and try to come up for a few next season.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball). Ha ha, any team in Alabama, Auburn, Tide, or Troy. At least I will be able to see one Gopher game a year. I’m pretty sure I’m the only in the state rockin the Gopher car window flag. It would be great for Minnesota to come in to Bryant Denny and knock the arrogant Alabama fans down a peg or two.
