1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? I first found the site last summer when I was looking for information in selecting seats for football season tickets and have remained an avid follower due to the insider Gopher information that is not as readily available anywhere else.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The negativity from some posters (especially after difficult losses). The extremely uncivil behavior seen in some threads. Trolls in general.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Keep up the good work on the site!

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: The TCF Bank Stadium opener versus Air Force in 2009 was an experience that will be not be forgotten.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? East Lansing, Columbus twice, and Iowa City for football.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? Took different various family members last year including my father, mother, sister and cousin.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Would like to see more D1-A opponents that Minnesota can easily drive to (Iowa State, Nebraska, maybe even Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri).

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? Obviously I like the Gopher sports discussion/banter. I really like getting the perspective of posters who have been around longer than I have. As for changes made to the site in the last year, I really like the ticket exchange board since I can assure I am buying from/selling to Gopher fans. The chat room is also a cool feature that I've used a few times during away games.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? I don't really like all the negaivity after losses but that will never change. I tend to avoid the boards at these times. I prefer to deal with my disappointment in solitude and celebrate victories with the masses.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? I kind of hope the recruiting boards are never activated. I like all of football and basketball information on one board. I like to avoid navigating between boards.

Football: Air Force 2009. There was no way we were losing that game and everyone there knew it.
Basketball: All home wisconsin victories since 2005. Each is memorable for their own reason. 2005: Amazing Grier performance. 2009: First victory over the red with Tubby. 2010: Bo Ryan Techical and complete dominance over top 15 ranked badgers. Also, Tubby's 400th victory @Michigan in 2008 was an excellent trip.

Basketball: NU, Iowa, Michigan, Greensboro 2009 NCAA tournament

Football: USC, Texas, North Carolina... oh wait already on the schedule. SWEET. I really have no problems with the current football scheduling practices. I like having one "power conference" opponent, two "middle level" D1 opponents, and one "cupcake" every year with three of the four being at home.
Basketball: Marquette and Iowa St. just play both every year. Alternate home/away with both annually and I will never complain about the schedule again. I promise (maybe).

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? I don't like the fact that anyone that does not drink the Brewster kool-aid is labeled as a troll or not a "real fan." Good luck on having a successful discussion with only one viewpoint expressed. I also do not like it when everyone talks up a recruit as the next star until the minute he commits to another school then he stinks or will not be missed, you cannot have it both ways. It is okay to be realistic and question the direction of the leadership.

Living in WI, it helps me keep current with what is going on with the UMN teams. Provides avenue to have discussions with knowledgable people regarding Gophers and overall all college sports. Also is a great time killer at work.

Trolls popping up every now and then, and especially when they try to call out long time posters.


3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented?
Features related to the upcoming opponents would be interesting. During the FB season there are game previews that are helpful, but none for BB games.

Favorite basketball game was the victory over Wisconsin in 2005 when Grier took over the game. Fell in love with the barn during that game and have had season tickets ever since.

My fellow GH'ers. I am a UW grad and while people here aren't keen on my dual loyalties, they respect it. Most of the dirt dished at UW and Iowa people is good natured. The mean spirted stuff is usually in response to trolls.

Negativity toward the program.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented?
We need a feed a Gopher Nation movement. Don't worry about how many cars tailgating in the lot, appreciate the people who are there. Hang together or hang separately!

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? One of the only places to talk with people about Gopher football and basketball. Want to see others' perspectives.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? Too many people who have a single agenda and attempt to turn every thread in that direction. Too little dialogue, too much "yelling" back and forth.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Greater conversation on topics, and less taking a stance. More openness to new posters who have a legitimate thought (not trolls). There are many people with fewer than 1000 or even 100 posts who are huge, knowledgeable fans.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Gopher basketball game when we beat the Fab Five, or almost any game during the 1997 season. I barely remember it, but it's when I became a fan - homecoming 1979 at Memorial Stadium, a 17-17 tie with Illinois. Marion Barber had a touchdown to win the game called back by holding. I was just a little kid - my dad took us to Homecoming each year.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? General negativity about the program. Nothing is ever good enough for some posters (usually related to coaching staff or certain players). I really hate when people dog players. Criticizing play is one thing, but saying a Minnesota player sucks is way over the line.
3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? More articles and interviews with players and coaches. I really enjoy the interviews that have been done - I just wish for even more :)

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Last year's MSU game was a blast and I loved the Air Force game as it what football should be. Prior to TCF, my favorite was the 2006 Iowa game since I love when the U wins trophy games.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Opener at TCFBank Stadium. Have missed 1 home game since 1993, but wouldn't trade one for that night! The atmosphere was absolutely electric from the noon open of the tailgate lots, to the Victory Walk, the game, the team high fiving the fans around the stadium post game to the tailgate lots following the game.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? All FB- @ Iowa State, @ Wisconsin, @ Michigan, @ Michigan State, @ Northwestern.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? Regular group of 10 friends, co-workers/friends,customers, family including parents, siblings, kids, inlaws, outlaws and scofflaws. Also the Russian Hat guy in Section 246 tailgates with us.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Nebraska as the most played FB OOC rival we have.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The information, the characters, the whit that is frequently found. My favorites are not the most passionate fans but the most objective and level-headed, the ones that can appreciate the positives and accept the negatives.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The lack of maturity for the most part, and of course, the mood after a loss, regardless of sport or opponent.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? I wouldn't mind if the admin were a little more liberal in just plain deleting posts or even entire threads. What would be the harm in just dumping some of the completely obvious posts or threads that are solely intended to incite others and spark negativity? After all, it is OUR board, right?

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: Football; the Sun Bowl in El Paso in 2003 against Oregon. Basketball; last season's win over Louisville in PHX and the Georgia game won at the buzzer by Michael Bauer's 3-pointer

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Recruiting information, interviews with players are interesting, especially recruits.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game. The basketball game we beat the Hoosiers and Pryz quit the next day. A great game. I also remember the old days when the Gopher football team was broadcast on at least 3 radio stations, perhaps 4(during the 50's). Those guys could really describe a game - now we have Mr. Lee butchering the job.
2. Where have you attended Gopher football/baskeball on the road? On a whim I went with the charter to Penn State when the Gophers clinched an NCAA bid. It was great fun although I found out later that many people went free whereas I paid full price, and even was asked to pay a little bit more. I complained about that and didn't have too.
4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? Same team for football and basketball, Iowa State.

1. What do you like about the GopherHole site? The stories, opinions and knowledgable posters. The whole idea of this being a volunteer site supported by donations as opposed to a corporate site with paid employees. The periodic reports done by GopherLady and others are very good.Posters who have done some good analytical work to support their point of view are great contributors to the GH along with those who find links to good information.

2. What do you dislike about GopherHole? The mindless opinionated posters who are trolling around looking for a fight.

3. What improvements or changes would you like to see implemented? Even more stories about players, coaches, where are they now, interesting historical events in Gopher sports history. Maybe find someone who wants to be the GH historian and they can do a story now and then on something they have researched. Maybe a guest journalist once in a while?

III. Fun Questions.

1. Your favorite football and/or basketball game that you attended: In November of 1960 my emotions were jerked around by the ups and downs of the Gopher football team. First the Gophers beat #1 Iowa 27-10 in the most exciting game I have ever watched, then the next week the Gophers lost to a mediocre Purdue team 23-14 in the most disappointing game I have ever witnessed and then the Gophers ended the season with a 26-7 win over Wisconsin to win the national championship. Three thrilling games in a row at Memorial Stadium in November of 1960. I remember thinking about those games all week before they were played. The win against Indiana in 1967 by 33-7 was a great game to watch as well. It gave Minnesota their last B10 conference championship.

2. Where have you attended Gopher football and/or basketball on the Road? Evanston, Iowa City and Madison for Gopher football and basketball. Nebraska, Anchorage, Cincinnati, Houston, Tucson, East Lansing, Hawaii for basketball. Many bowl games for football.

3. Who do you attend Gopher games with (spouse, parent, child, friend(s), alone, etc.)? As a kid, I would go with my uncle who was Associate AD at MN. Great seats and he got me hooked on the Golden Gophers! I have also attended games as an adult with my uncle, father, wife, sons, friends and sometimes alone.

4. If possible, what non-conference opponent would you like to have on the Gopher schedule annually (football and/or basketball)? At Texas, TCU and SMU for football. This would be great for Texas recruiting and I could attend the games without travelling back to the Midwest.
