Fire Ben Johnson

The decision is made- one way or another. If he fires Ben and doesn't have a guy lined up right away- Coyle himself should be fired as well. This is a long, long running train. Move fast- one way or another.
Honest question here - how can you have the next guy lined up when the ones everyone wants are coaching their teams into the postseason for the next couple of weeks? Yeah, you talk to their reps, but if someone is saying yes to you before they're done at their current job, that's not a great sign, IMO.

He hired PJ 4 days after he was done coaching in the Cotton Bowl. He hired coach P 1 day after she was done coaching in the NCAA tournament. Surely there were conversations long before they were done coaching.

Replacing Whalen took the longest, a little over 2 weeks, because coach P was still coaching. Otherwise Coyle hired, PJ, Motzko, and BJ all within a week of firing the previous coach.

Hopefully. But the replacement will likely be coaching for at least two more weeks.

I think there is a lot of back channeling that goes on. I positive most ADs don't wait until they fire their current coach to start the search.

I would love for the Gophers to make a Rick Pitino or Chris Jans like hire but they wouldn't touch either with a 10 foot pole. Btw Mississippi State has now finished 5 straight years at 8-10 in the SEC.

I'm all for a change if the change comes with a nice NIL boost because that's a gigantic piece of the puzzle. If not save the money and put it towards a new arena.

Do you know there is more to a season than just your conference record? Miss St is 8-10 in the SEC, but were in the top 25 as of this past week. And is line to be a single digit seed in the tournament this year and make their 3rd in a row.
