Ben can coach Wednesday either way.I'm guessing Thursday.

That timing would hurt our chances with the NCAA tournament selection committee.I'm guessing Thursday.
The Crown Committee will be watching closely. That timing would hurt our chances with the NCAA tournament selection committee.
I'm sure Washington fans are thrilled about this year and are pumped for the future!

It's a heck of a class. Washington is going to be fine.I'd take their recruiting class over Minnesota's,, that's for sure
He can release a statement then.Coyle's on the committee. He'll probably be out of town all week.
I was going to post something similar - this is a year zero for them. They have 3 top 100 frosh coming in, will be active in the transfer portal, and have a coach with a good reputation and track record. I'd rather be them. It's a heck of a class. Washington is going to be fine.
The decision is made- one way or another. If he fires Ben and doesn't have a guy lined up right away- Coyle himself should be fired as well. This is a long, long running train. Move fast- one way or another. He can release a statement then.
Honest question here - how can you have the next guy lined up when the ones everyone wants are coaching their teams into the postseason for the next couple of weeks? Yeah, you talk to their reps, but if someone is saying yes to you before they're done at their current job, that's not a great sign, IMO.The decision is made- one way or another. You think he'd announce firing without having the new coach to announce?I'm guessing Thursday.

Hopefully. But the replacement will likely be coaching for at least two more weeks. The decision is made- one way or another. If he fires Ben and doesn't have a guy lined up right away- Coyle himself should be fired as well. This is a long, long running train. Move fast- one way or another.
Yes. Absolutely. You think he'd announce firing without having the new coach to announce?
So you don't think the replacement will still be coaching Thursday.I hope this is sarcasm
I disagree I think he will know who's legit interested and work from there. But I don't think he will have his choice nailed down quite yet....Howeda, No way does the firing get announced without Coyle having his new coach in his back pocket.
Crown college in st Boni might be a good landing spot for Ben.The Crown Committee will be watching closely.

I think there is a lot of back channeling that goes on. I positive most ADs don't wait until they fire their current coach to start the search.Honest question here - how can you have the next guy lined up when the ones everyone wants are coaching their teams into the postseason for the next couple of weeks? Back pocket. Maybe. Announce it at the same time? No.Howeda, No way does the firing get announced without Coyle having his new coach in his back pocket.

This can't be true, can it?
Ha! Take that title contender floppers!
This is no defense of Ben...But how could a team that was picked last (ours) underperform expectations?
We're much more likely to be Washington next year than getting better in my opinion if we make a move!
I would love for the Gophers to make a Rick Pitino or Chris Jans like hire but they wouldn't touch either with a 10 foot pole. Btw Mississippi State has now finished 5 straight years at 8-10 in the SEC.
I'm all for a change if the change comes with a nice NIL boost because that's a gigantic piece of the puzzle. If not save the money and put it towards a new arena.
