Fire Ben Johnson

PJ is Coyle’s best hire, and it’s not even close. But let’s be honest, while PJ has done a nice job steadying the program and giving it an identity, he hasn’t exactly elevated it into the elite levels of college football where Coyle can use hiring Fleck as a Teflon shield to keep his job.
I give him credit for hiring PJ but he's also really whiffed on Whalen and Ben. He is also awful as a communicator.

and the softball coach and the wrestling coach and (retaining) the women's hockey coach and (seemed great but now tbd) the men's hockey coach.

Is he fired yet?

Coyle was likely in Indy for the game and the second it ended he probably went to the NCAA office to be sequestered since he's on the selection committee. It probably needed to happen either after the Rutgers game or immediately after today's game. (Or the selection committee doesn't meet in Indy and then who knows).

I thought on halftime of radio broadcast the deputy AD (can't remember her name) said Coyle was not allowed to be at the game today (per selection committee rules).

I don't think they're literally sequestered. Just issue a statement. Press conference Monday.

How is he on the selection committee? I almost can't think of a person whose opinion i would take on basketball performance less seriously.

One upside for the committee is they don't have to worry about playing favorites with a fellow committee member and giving them a birth with where Gopher basketball has been.

I just heard Maxy say "Gopher basketball fans came back this season" at the start of his report on today's game on the 10PM News.

I didn't realize local media fact checkers were being fired willy nilly.
Was he referring to the women's team?
