Fire Ben Johnson

It's officially
And you’re Officially Original🥳
You’re a Minnesotan and you don’t know this is the only Time which matters🤔🥸

What will be done eventually should be done immediately. The chances of making the NCAA's this year is officially zero. Let the remaining fans know you care and are paying attention. Give the players something to re-group around. And most importantly get a jump on the search for a new coach.

If I understand it, we have a large group of players who never played with each other before. It took most of the season to date for them to gel. Now, we have a 2-game win streak going in conference play. If it extends to three, we have a trend. If it becomes a trend, 17 and 50 is going to look a bit less daunting. Even the season will begin to look promising, except for the truly committed to the bit to fire Ben. Even a nagging wife will return to her husband's bed if she believes good things can still happen. The good wife will do it out of fidelity to the marriage, disrupting spite for honor. I don't see any of you respecting fidelity to see Ben survive another night. Y'all will go stomp off to the couch looking for a divorce attorney and a big divorce decree in a 50:50 state. How many times do we need a new husband for the program only to find out how disappointing he will be and landing ourselves on the couch once again as if that will change the outcome? The old adage of 'never go to bed angry' is fitting to basketball coaches just like marriages. Y'all be mad for nothing. Ye ain't going to get any if you stay mad. I do know if the team wins a third victory in a row, you're all going to scream "More! More!" like an addict while falling in bed with Ben. It is inevitable.

<Hounds of hell bark in the background. Torches lit. Pitch is being boiled. A chorus of minions pluck chicken feathers.

The writer slinks slowly into the twilight of darkness.>

Fran deserves to be fired for fouling Odukale with a minute left and only down 3. I get that strategy when you're down multiple baskets, but it was a one possession game, with a minute left. Play D and get a quick 2 or a 3 with 30 seconds still on the clock.

No

If they somehow win in East Lansing on Tuesday, with Washington after that, it becomes a real discussion.

Team is still only 11-9 (3-6). If they keep winning? Idk....it's possible. But there's still a long ways to go this season.
There’s still a mathematical chance at this point,

The sad azz thing, if you gave people the following options many, many on here would opt for Option A vs. B

A - the 3 game B10 Winning Streak is a mirage and we end up with only with a few more inconsequential wins - Ben is Fired

B - the 3 game B10 Winning Streak is for real, we beat more ranked teams along the way, finish above 500 in the B10 conference tournament and make the postseason and do something in the NIT, quarterfinals+ or make the NCAA - turns out Ben does know what he’s doing and Coyle wasn’t a schmo to hire him - But They Were Wrong and Ben remains as coach.

realize it’s about a 85/15 proposition for Option A to occur.

I believe this level of math and analysis is now illegal.
