I'm almost thinking that a better recruit (Nigel Hayes?) at the same position wants to commit, so we basically told Daniel we wanted to go in another direction.

I really didn't think a JuCo recruit made sense for this year. That would put him in the same graduating class as Coleman, Osenieks, Eliason, Dre Hollins, and Walker. That's 6 of your 13 scholarship players in 1 year.

They have had this fuzzy offer thing going on. Ask Estan Tyler, Chad Calcattera, Shelby Moats and yes Joe Coleman. I doubted this from the start.

Apparently this is not the first time this has happened. Why?

Marcus tweet: "Mutual decision between the #Gophers and junior college PF commit Daniel Edozie for him to look elsewhere. Still 3 scholarships left."
Go Gophers!!
You do your homework before you offer. Just another stupid chapter in "This is Our Best Shooting Team Ever". They just don't seem as a staff to be on the same page or have a plan of attack in recruiting.Did it ever occur to anyone that possibly, just possibly, Tubby found out something relative to this situation and is too professional and classy to divulge so the National Enquirer Reporters here on GopherHole could throw dirt on a kid?

for me, obviously not the same situation as he was a coach supposedly offered a position only to quite his current job and then be told that it wasn't available to him but strange that Tubby shows a history of doing this type of thing with players as well.
A real crack staff over their at William. What a joke.
Or we never really offered him (Tubby supposedly has the ability to be a little confusing in that regard - ask Joe Coleman) and this is a way for both sides to save face. Who knows. Maybe he read this thread and decided he didn't want to be here any more. Maybe Tubby only intended to offer him a walk on spot an it got misinterpreted.
This has been an odd situation from the beginning tho.
