Chances ESPN college gameday at TCF Bank Stadium

Wait, wouldn't ESPN vie for the broadcast rights to a Baylor-OkSt game in that case? Or does Fox have the rights to it? If ESPN doesn't broadcast, can they set up shop there? Have they ever done that for a game they don't air on either ESPN or ABC??

Yeah, they do it all the time. They're going to LSU-Bama this weekend (broadcast on CBS), went to Oregon-Washington earlier this year (broadcast on FS1). It might enter into the discussion a bit to give preference to one of "their" games, but overall it doesn't mean much (if history is any sort of guide)

Fargo.

I want to throw the weather wildcard into the discussion mix.
Counting this year and going back to 2011, Oregon is the "coldest" place hosting a regular season game after Nov 1st. I get the feeling that the boys don't like to take chances with the cold weather.

State hosting CGD in Nov going backwards from this coming weekend:
AL
FL
CA
OR
CA
LA
AL
TX
CA
AL

This has a lot to do with the success of the PAC-12/SEC in recent years, but I would not doubt if they take temperature into consideration if it is a close call on where to go in November.

LSU can't appear on CBS again this season. They're maxed out on games, including this weekend against Alabama and the traditional Black Friday game against Arkansas. That means ESPN will almost certainly air Texas A&M-LSU in prime time on November 23. It makes it very easy for ESPN to do Gameday there or, if they do it in Stillwater for Baylor-Oklahoma State, we're talking a very short flight for Herbstreit to Baton Rouge. Not good news from the Gophers perspective.

When Wisconsin loses to BYU this whole thread will be moot.

We beat Penn State! Commence with talking about College Gameday chances! :)

8-2 Gophers vs 8-2 Wisconsin for Paul Bunyan's axe as a huge rivalry matchup? GameDay's gotta come to Minneapolis for next Saturday! Otherwise, screw them.

Game is not until 2 weeks from today, November 23rd. Gophers have a bye week next week.

That is not correct at all, the Max appearances on CBS is 6. So LSU can appear on CBS 1 more time.

That's cool Fowler even responded. Still highly doubt it will even be considered, but since I'll be in town nothing would make me happier, well, other than beating Wisconsin.

All of @CollegeGameDay salute the GoldenGophers, Jerry Kill, and Tracy Claeys. #Minnesota becoming a better story weekly. 8 W's!

Speaking of Gameday, has anyone been able to find the piece on Kill and the Gophers that was aired today?

I'm sure it's somewhere in the previous 8 pages of posts...but could someone do me a favor and let me know when does ESPN announce the location for the 11/23 Gameday? I went from thinking there was no chance to inching up to 2%...then to 5%...and now after today's game, I'm thinking we might, again might, actually have a shot at hosting this thing!

It'll probably be OK State and Baylor, but they could mix things up and just decide to come up here for the first time ever. You never know. Gameday makes some fun decisions like that sometimes. In either case, the fact that it is being discussed is awesome! The Jerry Kill story could really play in our favor.

Totally agree with this. I mean, for the love of God, they were in Fargo of all places this season! Sure, it was a totally inconsequential visit that shined a spotlight on a smaller school that might not otherwise would've gotten attention. Having been born and raised there and still having a lot of friends and family up there, they said the whole experience was fantastic and everyone, including the ESPN talent, had a great time there. I think there are enough angles to this Wisconsin/Minnesota game that we are definitely in the mix!

Decsion will be made after next Saturday games are over, most likely a week from today. They haven't even decided on where gameday is going to in a week. Most likely USC and Stanford game.

The security guard in that picture is a nice dude that we've developed a relationship with over the years and playfully nicknamed "Iceman". However, if you look closely, he's wearing a red shirt that he revealed to be a Badger t-shirt. Total dick move, pal.
