Chances ESPN college gameday at TCF Bank Stadium

were on the grid and that is all we can hope for. It would be such a monster recruiting tool, We have lots of good visitors for the wisky game.

All I can picture is either the Gophers winning and the world believes that the Badgers are overrated or the Gophers getting embarrassed on the national stage.

The best case is the Gophers pull one out and roll into East Lansing ranked in the mid teens and MSU ranked in the top ten. No pressure on the Gophers or Gopher fans at all.

Absolute best case scenario, next November 5th, Ohio State is on a 34 game winning streak and roll into the Cities to face a 9-0 Gopher team ranked in the top ten in the nation coming off a 9 win season. That would be a Gameday game that we could all be proud of.

While awesome. Gameday would probably still go to the SEC title game because tickets are actually in high demand for that game.

Go Gophers!!

ZERO chance of Gameday. Wisconsin going down in flames to the Hoosiers right?

So will they wait until next Sunday to decide? I thought the assumption on this board was that they make the decision this week? If not, we have an even better chance than before. If either Baylor or OkSt trips up this weekend, the game becomes less meaningful. LSU lost last night making that game as much of a consolation game as MN v Wisconsin would be (in fact, more so since MN is technically still in the division hunt).

If Baylor wins, they're still playing each game for NC game possible appearance, but it seems the MNvWI rivalry and Kill story could easily be enough to sway them.

I say people tweet/etc the Gameday folks to show support. It's one of the few things we can do as fans to help improve the image/publicity of the program...

It seems they've announced it on Saturdays and Sundays this season (I believe LSU-Bama was announced last Saturday, before the games were played - but clearly USC-Stanford was announced today). I agree, if the location is announced a week from today we have a slightly better chance - Okie State could lose to Texas, Baylor could lose to Texas Tech (although that one is pretty unlikely).

Fun Conversation, but unless something goes astray with OkSt or Baylor - that is the game of the week nationally. Two top 10 teams trumps a B1G matchup - even one of this importance (to us).

I agree. I have been on it for two weeks now. We need to do what we can to bring up our perception as a fan base. So E-Blast the crap out of them!

College gameday did ditch the #16 Washington v #2 Oregon game and the #17 florida v #10 LSU game just to go to the #12 oklahoma v texas game just because of the history of the rivalry, and possibly the possibility of Mack Brown getting fired, the week before they chose #4 OSU-#16 Northwestern game over #5 stanford-#15 Washington and over #25 Maryland over #8 Florida state, if we are both 8-2 when we play each other it is definitely a possibility even if there are better matchups, this is the most played matchup in the history of the FBS after all, and the Jerry Kill holywood storyline as well

i might also add that they went to the NDSU game vs another FCS team over #23 ASU-#5 Stanford, and hopefully CBS will televise Texas A&M-LSU and also earlier in the thread someone mentioned that the Baylor-Oklahoma game might be the Fox game of the week and they might televise that(possibly on FS1 which is like channel 871 for me) that would help a lot

Next week:
#6 Baylor vs #25 Texas Tech
#14 Oklahoma State AT 7-2 Texas (who has recently won 6 in a row)

I think Texas will beat Oklahoma State. At least I hope they will.

Things that make the UW/Minnesota match-up attractive to GameDay:

- It's a rivalry game that is happening the week before rivalry week
- Both teams will be ranked for the first time in a long time (2005)
- The fact that Minnesota has awful for the last 50 years and is now doing intriguingly well.
- GameDay has never been to Minnesota
- The Jerry Kill Storyline
- The history of the series, the famous trophy
- The fact that I am going and want GameDay to come.

and Sam Ponder living here, she also did the interview with Clayes and Kill which might make it more likely that she would try to get it to come here

As a "hope for the best and expect the worst" Gopher fan, I'm wondering if we should be careful what we wish for. What if they do come here and it's 15 degrees and snowing when they come on the air. We would get three hours of how it's so cold in Minnesota.

That being said, I would still love it if they come.

Even if Ok St loses to Texas the teams in that game will still have half as many losses as the Wisconsin / Gopher game.

1) Any publicity is better than none. The constant panoramas and establishing shots before/after commercials of TCF Bank Stadium, etc can only be good. Them coming here signals something to recruits and fans. I'd rather be on national TV for 3 hours in the cold/snow than not.

2) It could be 40 and sunny that day and completely dispel in many people's minds what typical late November in MN is. Yes, it's usually cold and windy, but also rarely snowy (which many outside the state just assume is true).

November 23 averages:

Average high: 36
Average low: 21
Record low: -6 (1898)
Record high: 55 (1905)

I think you guys should worry about filling up the stadium before even considering gameday coming here. They like a scene full of college football fans in the background. I don't think the 30,000 Gopher fans (plus 15,000 away fans) will cut it.

You're probably right...heck, if they DID decide to do game day here, they'd have to explain to our students what the heck it IS! We were with two U of M students on Friday night and neither of them even knew who the Gophers were playing the next day. Just get the axe!

I'm pretty sure most people have seen this by now, but I didn't see it posted anywhere, so I copied it here. That's the Gameday producer, for those that don't know.

It's nothing we didn't know already, but it's still cool seeing the people from Gameday actually talking about it.

in your second list, the only game that looks like there's no chance of it happening is temple over ucf. otherwise it all looks possible by my eyes with TT over Baylor being the next most unlikely

I think he is alluding to Baylor/Okst and Baylor/Texas. Baylor/Texas is during championship week... does gameday usually go to one of the neutral sites or will they do an on campus game like Baylor/Texas?

Samantha Ponder had a lot of tweets regarding Gameday/the gophers, i don't know how to embed tweets so if somebody could do it later that would be nice

Baylor vs. Oklahoma State has been set for a 7 pm kickoff. My guess is that's where Gameday goes.
