Just saying, that right now, this program IS in a much better spot, with a bright future to boot. Pretty sure that for most of us who were paying attention to the rest of Big Ten, we realized that the Gophers getting to the NCAA tournament this season, even with Braun and Woodson available and playing well, was far from a sure bet. Personally, I was (and still am) hoping that the Gophers can sneak in as a bubble team.
As far as player development and usage, I'm not that worked up about Johnson. She's got a long ways to go, but her ability to score will come in handy, once she gets the rest of her game up to snuff. (I hope that eventually happens). I was actually hoping to see Holloway and Klick be bigger contributors than they've been. For Klick, it's probably a matter of being behind because of the knee injury. Sounds like that for Holloway (much like Johnson) it's a bit of a basketball IQ/defensive execution thing.. That's all right, they're young and still have time to pick it up and contribute. Honestly, if we end up losing players because they can't figure out defensive concepts/principles, that's not a bad thing. Winning basketball teams usually feature players who can both physically and mentally execute a game plan.
